Frequent hiker, 3rd 14er, summited in 2.5 hours. Blowy as heck on top. People were never out of sight. Bring a good CO beer for the peak.

Please respect the trail rules and keep all pets and small children on a leash.

Well maintained routes and clearly marked trails. On the last stretch of trail near the creek I ran into a bull moose (see pic). I backed up a bit to give him space and wander off. After a couple minutes I went back around the bend where he had been. He had now turned around and was looking straight at me and as soon as we made eye contact he began to charge. Thankfully there was some space for me to hightail it out of there before I was stomped. Moose aren't the brightest animals, but they can be aggressive so be careful out there!

Couple more tips, as other reviews have mentioned: go counterclockwise and take the Windy Peak extension for lunch. Well worth it!

Trail was very hard to see, still quite a bit of snow near the top. Myself and other people made it to the lakes, but it was slippery, wet and muddy in spots. Tip: bring a GPS (cell phones have no service here) and don't trust the tracks in front of you.

Great workout. Hiked on 4/8/17. Top third of the trail was snow packed. Wear boots for sure, unless you're a maniac. Mostly wooded with some great views along the way.

3/4/2017, sunny in the 50s and 60s. West of the parking lot a road leads to Braille trail. This eventually turns into Beaver Brook trail. The trail can also begin right next to the restrooms by the parking lot. As of yesterday there were spots of snow and mud, but overall fairly dry. I'd personally suggest wearing boots. It took me about 2.5 hours with minimal stops

A wooded hike that has some beautiful openings and eventually goes down into the creek bed. The trail has you cross over the creek several times, but not every crossing has a bridge. I managed the unabridged crossings fairly easily due to ice cover. I'm not sure how it goes in the warmer months as I didn't see any logs to help cross. Overall very enjoyable, I didn't run into another person for the first hour and this was on a Saturday around 11am.
