I started the hike at the trailhead that was off of Wasatch Blvd instead of the one listed on here. This one off of Wasatch was pretty steep up to the lake. The view of the lake itself nestled in the mountains and the views of the valley are worth it already. The rest of the hike up to the falls was relatively easy until about the last half mile where it gets steep and feels like it never ends. At one point I wondered if seeing the falls was even worth it. Once I got up there, it was. Hiking on a hot day and standing in the cool mist of the waterfall will make you want to stay drenched in it's awesomeness and not come back down. I'd do it again, even in the middle of a hot summer day.

Short, goes a little uphill. The Grotto was smaller than I expected, but still pretty to see. Expect your feet to get wet at the grotto portion. We went on a Saturday and it was crowded at the end. Recommend going on a weekday. Drive up Payson Canyon was beautiful.

A walk amongst these majestic, towering trees will have you in awe the whole time. A simple, paved walkway may not sound like an ideal hike for some, but it's the Redwoods and that's good enough for me. Worth the trip out there. I recommend going on a weekday when it is less crowded.

Enjoyable hike, some cool views. Went while it was cold and raining. May have enjoyed it enough to give it five stars if it were sunny out, but still a cool one to do regardless of the weather.

This is one of the most famous hikes in all of the land and the views are the reason why. The hike up can be strenuous at times, so don't feel bad taking a break. I'd say this hike is more like 5 miles round trip instead of the 4.4 that is listed. With it being a famous hike, it is a crowded one, especially as you get closer to the top. The last half mile on the way up can take about as long as the other two miles simply because that last stretch is where the chains are to help you through the steep and narrow parts. That is where people are log jammed. It would be nice to have a park ranger up there directing traffic. But once you get to the top, it makes it all worth it. I look forward to doing this hike again, even with the crowds.

This is a nice little paved trail which goes through and around the springs. Great for families with small children. Love the drive up through American Fork Canyon to get there. You will need to pay to use the grounds. No picnicking allowed, either. The temperature there isn't much different than what you experience in the valley.

Did this hike in July and made it to the top in time for sunset. To echo other people's sentiments, the trail isn't well marked, especially after you reach the 2-mile marker. I highly recommend pulling up the map via this app on your phone and following along so you can keep track of your location. Once you get to the 2-mile marker, there will be a rest area. There are two different paths yout can take from there and you take the path that is to the left of the benches to stay on this route. This is when the trail gets pretty. Quite steep, but you're in the woods up until the top. Once you reach the top, you will find a little hill to your left with a small path that you should take up. You will have an incredible view of Salt Lake Valley and Mount Timpanogos to the right. Makes the trip worth it. The path down is quite woodsy and shaded. Horse crap is everywhere on this trail, so be careful. We saw some deer, one that was only 20 feet away. My six year-old loved it. Speaking of, he had to make occasional stops to rest, but was still hikeable for someone his age. Look forward to doing this again in the Fall!

Paved, narrow path the entire way. It is quite the incline heading up. They give you about 90 minutes to make it up to the top before your tour starts and we made it in 45. The rangers were kind enough to let my nephew and I join an earlier tour so we didn't have to sit around. The cave is about 45 degrees year round. There will be spots inside where you need to crouch down under formations and some narrow places, too. Wasn't able to get great pictures inside due to lighting, but plenty of awesome views outside.

Excellent hike! It was more than the 1.3 miles round trip. We hiked up to the falls and I'd say it was at least four miles out and back. The trail is well shaded and goes along the creek. The trail was uphill the entire way to the falls. When we got to the falls, we were at the right side near the top. We found a little path that went down to the base of the falls and that is where you wanna be. Feeling the cool mist of the falls on a hot summer day was incredible. The way back down was quick. Not as many people on this trail, which is nice.

A great hike that you can bring the family, and dogs, on. I brought my six-year old and he did have to make some stops to rest due to some of the inclines. Speaking of, this out and back hike goes uphill for the first half, then downhill to the falls. Expect uphill then downhill half and half on the way down. the falls are beautiful and I recommend wearing items you can get wet in, and a towel.

Such a beautiful hike to do in the warmer months. Aspen trees all around. some spots you will cross branches and logs to get across the creek thay cascades down the mountain. Bring a light jacket just in case. Park at the Silver Lake Flat reservoir to get to the trailhead.
