close to town and easy to find. by going up the main trail and circling around on the yellow then sleepy hollow trail you can get about 1.5 miles out of it. can tell that it was maintained but there are a number of big trees down over the trail from the winter storms.

Good option if you are in the Hudson city area. Tips: can be muddy, many trails are out and back (not as much fun as loops), map is not very helpful (IMHO), trails are fairly clean, dogs allowed on leash but many non-compliant owners and there is a lot of dog faeces on the trails, can be windy as you are overlooking the Hudson river. Not many humans about; averaging 2-5 per visit. Saw turkeys, squirrels..., + evidence of deer, coyote, fox. Easy trail also easy to get a bit disoriented. Well maintained.

This trail run is a bit tricky because you get to the lake and feel that you may have done it but there is still a significant amount of elevation to go. In addition, you can go on either side of the Strawberry Lake (straight left is shorter). It can be hard to find the ascending trail that goes to Little Strawberry Lake but remember up and left always. Lots of people and dogs even in November. Trees were dead and downed, many across the trail; not the most attractive run. Saw a few deer. The run took about 2 hours including getting slightly off track and stopping for photos.

Be aware that there are 2 trails. The longer one is a bit over 3 miles. The sign suggests 3 hours to do this, don't be fooled. At a gentle jogging pace with stops for photos this took 45 minutes. Not much wildlife but interesting colors. Collecting is not allowed. Easy to find and to park on a Saturday in November.

if you are into geology then go however my suggestion for others is the following : if you happen to be within 40 minutes of here, go otherwise it may not be worth it. I also agree with the "trail" comment; it is really just a path.

Apparently the etiquette on this trail is to post one's time, so in keeping with this, I gently ran up and down while stopping for requisite photos in 3h24m.
Early November run, with lots of mushrooms present including coral/Coprinus/Lycoperdan/Chanterelles/Gomphus/Russula/Ganoderma... Saw a few dogs and their owners. Felt safe even though it was the season for shooters.

Agree with the pothole descriptions and the rating. Did a trail run there in October in the rain so I missed the flowers, but only bumped into 2 people (with rifles, wear orange!) over the 10+ miles. Trail is nicely groomed and easy to find once parked however to clarify; it starts on the opposite side of the parking. Don't be confused about left and right in the description. No wildlife to see other than birds however that could be secondary to people shooting. If you are looking for views, don't go when the fog and rain set in. Overall, good trail. Enjoy!

not a lot of fun Mountain biking in October in the rain. Trails were rutted and muddy. Only wildlife were some birds. From a positive perspective, only saw one other biker and the views were nice. Would only recommend it if you are nearby and a few hours to spare.
