Nice hike, bit of incline at the beginning until you get to a nice open meadow. It took us about an hour ish to get to the lake. We did go to have a snack by the elephant rocks, there was nobody there and after that we did the loop around the lake.

It’s pet friendly, family friendly. It get very crowded. Go early

The first part of this hike takes about an hour until you get to a plateau where the views get better, most people stop here and enjoy their lunches while looking at the Glaciers and mountains around. This first part is fairly easy with nice inclined at the begging and towards the end before the plateau.
If you feel energetic I highly recommend doing the loop from the plateau, as you look up the right side has a small waterfall, marmots and caves, took us about 1 hour 10 min to do the loop.
Hiking poles and hiking boots recommended for that last section.
It was pretty crowded by 10 am so go early.

We did this hike yesterday morning, it took us 4 round trip to the helipad including lunch at the top. Nice inclined up with a few sections of steep and a boulder field cross. Views from the top are amazing, on one side you have Canmore and on the other side alpine meadow where we saw a family of grouse.
Hiking poles and boots are highly recommended.
We started hiking at 8:40 and nobody was there, we saw a whole bunch of people on the way down.

We did this hike today with the most amazing weather. Once you get to Borgeau lake take a snack break and keep going to Harvey pass, we loved the views from up there. It took us 2 hours in a nice steady pace to Borgeau lake and from there a bit over one hour to Harvey pass. We saw 10 other hikers. Hiking boots and walking poles highly recommended.

It took us about 1 hour and 30 min to get to the top in a nice steady pace. View from the top was spectacular.

I recommend to start early it gets pretty crowded as the day goes by and it gets pretty hot too.

Windy at the top so bring a wind stopper.
Hiking poles and hiking boots are recommended.

Cynthia Valladares reviewed Galatea Creek To Lillian Lake

It was a beautiful, nice hike starting in the forest with a creek on the other side of the trail, there’s quite a few bridges to cross ( very well done ) .
Up all the way until the third lake with some sections that were steeper than others.
It took us about 2 hours to get to Lillian Lake, we stopped to grab a snack and continue to Galatea lake, Lillian lake was busy with all the campers and hikers that were fishing there were also mosquitoes.
Took us about 40 min steep up to Galatea lake, the views got better and the color of the lake was just beautiful from this point if you have time I would highly recommend to go to the third and last lake “upper Galatea” it is smaller but absolutely gorgeous, it ended being my favourite out of the 3 and just took us about 25 minutes to walk there.
Bring an extra layer for the top and plenty of water.

It’s a fantastic hike in terms of distance and views but it needs to be well marked.
If you are going solo and have not experience I wouldn’t recommend it or if you are afraid of heights.
Most people we met (after the hike) including the locals recommend to go with someone that has done it before and download the map on your phone, easy to get lost.
We were in a group of three, were none of us had done it before , we enjoy the views specially once you get above the three line those were the best.
All the way up to the top we met people that decided to go to the end of the forest or right before the chains and go back the same way. If you do, that it is still a challenging hike and you get a lot of rewarding views.
There was just a group of 6 in front of us and 2 women behind us, nobody else we met wanted to finish the loop.
You get the feeling once you scramble a bit up and pass the chains that that was the scariest part but it’s not.
Once you start going down, the terrain is rocky, small rocks and loose dirt (hiking poles recommended) , after a while you get above the tree line again and that is when the trail disappears, we could see it all the way down but there’s wasn’t a trail that connect to it, we went down the edge of the mountain some skied down, sky and a big portion I slide down on my bum, there is nothing you can hold into just small roots in a few sections. So that was the scary part.
We downloaded the map (all trails) in our phones before we started the hike and that is the way we were back on track.
We left the parking lot at 11:30 and we were back at 6:30 pm.
Overall we had such a good experience but If I had known this ahead of time I would have found somebody that has done it before to come with us.

Very nice but a bit busy, the hike itself it’s not a piece of cake but it’s not crazy hard either, you have to consider that it’s a steep hike up, just take your time.
We saw solo hikers, families, definitively dog friendly.
Took us about 1 hour and 40 min to go up, gorgeous views, we stop by the waterfall to have some lunch and then continue our way down the loop. About one hour down for us.
    Totally worth it !

It was a great hike, steep up most of the time inside the forest. View from the top was amazing.
Make sure to bring enough water, sun screen and layers there’s a lot of people that said it gets windy once at the top. For us was different, nice and sunny we still brought them tho.
Took us about 2 hours 15 minutes to get up to the very top and 1 hour 15 min to come down.
If you have time stay up there for a while, enjoy the view while you grab a snack.

It was a very nice short walk with great views, the color of the lake is unbelievable. If you have just a few hours I will definitively recommend this hike. Don’t miss the waterfall !!!

I absolutely loved this hike, very nice inclined up with a few sections that were steeper, you cross several bridges and have the creek by your side. Very nice trail in really good shape, good for families and dogs.
It was very scenic, we went to all three lakes and it was totally worth it. Took us about 2 hours to get to the first lake, from there another 45 minutes to the second lake you have to cross a morraine to get there it is a bit steep but nothing you can’t do, after we rested for a bit we hiked to the third lake and it took us about about 30 minutes.
If you have the time don’t hesitate to go all the way to the end, my favourite lake was the third one.
I recommend walking poles and hiking boots, it got a bit windy and rainy at the top but not for too long so bring a jacket.
It was busy but not terrible.
