This was a lovely beach walk. Serene setting and not highly trafficked.

This is a great place to get out of the car and stretch your legs for a few miles. The redwoods are amazing and the trail is very easy.

Of course you should take this drive! There are many spots to pull over and wander through the redwood groves. The Eel River flows behind the groves and can be accessed by a quick walk through the woods. We spent most of a day driving, stopping, looking, photographing, and hiking. It was well worth it.

This was a nice little walk in the woods. We ended up here by accident while looking for Damnation Creek Trail (which we never found :-( ). There were nice views and a beach access where we rested and watched surfers. There are facilities, which is nice, and may be a reason to choose this trail for a picnic spot.

I did a small section of this trail beginning at Fern Canyon going out and back about 3 miles. It was truly a pleasure. The Redwoods in this area were beautiful along with the ferns and other vegetation. It was nice to have a longer hike after driving 8 miles on un-paved road to see Fern Canyon. Certainly worth checking out even if you can't conquer the whole trail.

This was a great hike! The tall walls of ferns were so unique and the stony river bed was lovely. The hike was very easy. We saw elk and banana slugs, two things we hoped to see while in the area. Be warned, there is an 8 mile drive on an un-paved road to arrive at the parking lot as well as areas where the water streams across the path. We made it through in a mustang so it's doable but nerve racking. Worth it.
