Spectacular winter snowshoe trail. Today was beautiful. Lots of snow, friendly people and views that were unbelievable.

Great hike with Eugene the Jeep - still some snow in areas, but the sights were spectacular. Take the Split Rock trail to see "it" which is pretty cool. I was on the trail for about four-hours. There are some photo ops especially on the eastern trail - next time, I bring a camera. Without the snow, I'd say excellent for kids of all ages.

One of the best hikes near Golden/Denver. It took about two-hours and was not very difficult at all. Plenty of great spots to have a picnic along the way. Great views of Golden. I really enjoyed all the rock outcroppings along the way. Plenty of deer trails so keep your eyes open for them.

Went there this weekend on Sunday. I arrived early and found hardly a crowd. It did fill-up quick with parents and little kids. Took Eugene the Jeep, my daughter dog, and we had a blast in the river and off-trail - far more to see along the cliffs. It did get hot around noon-time so bring plenty of drinkable water if you trek there this summer. I posted a photo of what looks like to me a petrified log embedded in the wall of the canyon. If anyone can clarify it, I will appreciate it.

I got crushed. This is the trail to remind you how in-shape or out-of-shape you are. I'm the latter. Back to the gym and have to start running again. Note of interest. There are basically two trails here. The switchback trail is the Barr Trail that connects to the straight-up Incline Trail. I made the mistake of taking the Incline when I really wanted the Barr. Also, no dogs on the Incline and they also recommend "Up Only" on the Incline for safety reasons. Parking for the Incline is $5 and at the Barr it is set-up for pay-and-park. By the way, the little town of Manitou Springs is a charming little place and would make for a great date-day.
