Courtney Rogers reviewed Yellow Fork Canyon Trail

Easy hike. Lots of mud today but easy to navigate through. Dog friendly. Lots of places for the kids to explore. Only made it up about a mile and then turned back.

Took the family up here today and we loved it! It was steep but totally worth it. The creek was awesome. Not too cold yet either! We did feel like the hike could have ended once you get past the creek and to the little rock couch area. It's about 1.2 miles round trip that way. We hiked past it to the end and there wasn't much there and the trail is a bit washed away. The trailhead isn't marked but if you follow the map it's on the left hand side when you go up Provo Canyon. It's a small gravel road with a small dirt parking area. You just walk up the gravel road past the gate and head upwards once you see a small maintenance shack with graffiti all over it.

We hiked this today with the whole family and our dog. We only hiked up to the little handmade teepee and back which was about 2.3 miles. Pretty easy hike. There is a lot of vehicle traffic on this trail, including ATV's, Dirt Bikes, etc. Had fun looking around for "treasure" as our kids call it but decided to head back when we noticed a lot of people target shooting in the area. Sunday was probably a popular time for folks to go shooting up there so we weren't too alarmed. We will probably be back to do the full hike to the top but will choose a less busy time. There are some amazing views of Utah Lake up this trail and definitely worth the effort!

Just finished this with the family and our 9 week old pup. All of us made it just fine. The views are pretty amazing! The hike itself is pretty easy and lots of kids and people were up there. Would do it again!

Just completed this today with the whole family. Packed up our toddlers on our backs and our older kids, 9 and 10 years old, did great! The trail is rocky but a nice steady incline. Not too slippery for us. You cross a small stream towards the top and we kept mostly to the left. We went off to the left and stopped at the lookout at the end of the hike and you get a great view of Horsetail Falls. Nice views, saw a group on horses on the way. Perfect Saturday getaway!

This was basically a short walk with some pretty views. If you use the AllTrails map for directions it takes you to the park n' ride as where the trail begins which makes you cross the freeway to find the trail head. Not sure why it is set up that way but don't park there. Just turn around and park across the street so you don't have to cross a busy freeway. Otherwise the trail was ok. Some cool history behind the quarry stones but we probably won't be back here. Also, watch your kids around the trails here, we found a backpack with drug paraphernalia in it and tossed it in the trash.
