Cori McWay reviewed Rose Canyon Trail

very easy trail, the only reason I broke a sweat is I was carrying a weighted pack. there isn't much to see or play with, but there are some interesting plants at least. there's nothing wrong with the trail. it's well maintained and wide with plenty of room. just a bit boring for my taste. plus you can see civilization for most of the trail, and that kinda defeats the purpose of hiking.

they really should have put switchbacks on this trail. it just goes straight up, with a few platforms to rest on. nice area and could have been a fun hike if it hadn't been such a pain.

Cori McWay reviewed Sunset Trail to Laguna Meadows Loop

My favorite spot: Water of the Woods. It's a deep, narrow pool that trickles down the west side of the Laguna Mountains, towards Viejas Indian Reservation. There are some fun rock formations to climb on the Sunset Trail section, great views to the west (I feel like I can see the ocean from here) and some amazing, sweeping views of the meadows once you're on the loop. Just watch out for cow patties! The two cattle ponds in the meadows, Big Laguna and Little Laguna lakes, actually did used to attract cattle! This set of trails is well-traveled, well maintained by volunteers and forest service, and a ton of fun!

Cori McWay reviewed Mount Laguna - Agua Dulce Loop

Mount Laguna has the best hiking in San Diego, and Agua Dulce is no exception. I've hiked and ridden all over this mountain, and the wooded trails like this one are my favorites. The Agua Dulce spur takes you by the old pump house, a pretty neat site if you're into local history. The trail isn't hard, but you'll want a good pair of boots if you're going to do the whole mountain loop, as it's long with a few steep and slippery spots. Bring plenty of water with you too!
