Cole Stevenson reviewed Little Tor Trail

A nice steady incline up to some awesome vantage points . It was very slick outside in late December when I did this hike so certain points were a little tough . Still managed to make it up without any of my hiking gear. Great place to take first time hikers, one trail that will take you all the way to high tor and back to the parking lot . personally I thought little tor was the nicer of the two .

Pretty easy hike up to the fire tower, a little steep at certain points but all in all pretty moderate . It was very cloudy when I went so I didn't get too much of a view . The fire tower is very cool the hike itself is alright.

This place is very well maintained and has a few nice lookouts . The trails themselves are somewhat moderate. The skyline trail is nice and the river of rocks is quite interesting , solid hike, nothing too crazy but very pretty especially with some snow on the ground .

Of all the 4000 foot mountains I've hiked this was definitely the easiest . We went in mid January on a very sunny day the temperature was in the low thirties. the trail is quite icey but never gets too steep, we reached the top in about two hours . Although the view is somewhat limited and the summit is heavily wooded a small cliff about a quarter mile from the top revealed some incredible views of the rest of the Catskills . This is a must for any skill level

The first couple miles of this trail are pretty moderate with some very nice views of the surrounding mountains . The last couple miles are very steep and icey and we're very challenging on a cold winter day , The windchill on top was well below zero so dress warm . in the summer it would be very doable

We did this hike early this morning after it had snowed the previous night , only a couple inches but it made this hike extremely difficult . We parked on the farm road and from there getting to the crag itself it's fairly easy and well marked, the rock scramble itself was very cool, incredibly tough in snowy/wet conditions but very doable on a nice dry day i would imagine. The veiw of the Catskills was incredible even on a moderately cloudy day. What I loved so much about this hike was you got veiws in every direction from the top. From there we took the yellow trail to the blue trail which eventually connected to the table rocks trail and then back to the parking lot with a little back tracking . Everything was very well marked

The start of the trail is about a hundred feet from the parking lot, just walk down the shoulder of the road for a bit. We followed an unmarked path in the middle of the parking lot and ultimately bushwhacked to meet back up with the trail . The veiws are really nice especially the overlook of the bear mountain bridge .

there's a small high way on 9w that has a sign for the long path, from there its only about a mile to the summit following the long path . you can then continue onto the long path and descend down from the lookout. Turn left right before the Brook which takes you on an unmarked road which take you back to the beginning . I'd suggest turning back around at the lookout and retracing your steps back to the parking lot as the rest of the hike doesn't offer much . The veiw from the top is really nice , definitely a hidden gem amongst many much more popular hikes .

It's a nice little loop that offers some pretty good vantage points , we took the white trail to the blue trail and found some pretty cool cliffs with some nice veiws up there. Probably more of a fall hike than anything else, the foliage is really what makes it beautiful

Pretty cool hike that's usually very crowded. It's a nice hike you can skip over most of the flat land and park on Rt 94. From there its like 2 miles of gradual incline to the top. Everything is clearly marked and hard to miss, the veiw is nice and overlooks some farm land.

Overall A pretty nice hike . The reservoir was pretty and you get a nice overlook at the top. I found it to be pretty tough at point I took a few guys with me who don't really hike and they had a hard time with it. Like I said cool veiw but not nearly as good as many of the surrounding hikes. If youve done most of the near by hikes and are looking for something new I'd certainly try it out . If you haven't done Storm King mountain I'd go there first

Tough Hike. I had a little trouble finding the trail markers at some point but with some help of a local hiking guide I figured it out. The veiws from the top are nice but not as nice as a lot of the surrounding hikes in my opinion. None the less a nice hike I enjoyed very much

I've been here 3 times the first time alone and I've since taken both my brothers here. In my opinion easily one of the best hikes in new Jersey. The veiw from the top is nice a rock face that jets downward allowing you walk down and hang you feet off the edge and sit back. I find the veiw from the first overlook to be even prettier though . Pretty easy loop trail going up is a bit steeper and the way down is more gradual, as far as new Jersey goes it's tough to beat this hike .

My uncle told me about this hike as I was on my way out the door coming back from his cabin in Middleburg . I didn't really know what to expect just put it in the GPS and decided to stop off on my way home. I didn't have my hiking boots so luckily it was a super easy hike. Certainly a great place for kids and small dogs. The top is amazing a smooth rock surface that stretches out a pretty long ways offering some great veiws.

Really Steep trail but the veiws are really beautiful , especially if you climn the chimney. I couldn't find the caves unfortunately and I was a bit pressed for time , maybe next time.

Absolutely amazing in the Fall. Pretty Moderate climb with a steady incline that eventually lead to some light rock scrambling near the top. the veiw from the hump itself is awesome, but the wind is very strong.
