We went last year, and had a wonderful time. The trail is easy enough and we barely saw anyone while we were out there. We'll be back

    Carissa Black reviewed Mount Belford

This was only my second 14er, but I thought it was much prettier than Elbert. Our group started a little before 5:30 am - we're slow - we were back at the car in 9 hours. We took the steep way up, and the 1 mile extension "loop" back. Like other reviewers, I strongly strongly recommend that route. It's very pretty, will be easier on your knees, and you avoid sliding in loose rock during the steep descent.

Carissa Black reviewed Stormy Peaks Trail

I did this hike a while ago, but it looks like my review was lost? Anyway, from what I remember it's pretty tough, took a whole day. You come out of the woods into a nice meadow where you walk over to the base of the peak. I really liked the meadow, lots of flowers when I was there. The scramble up to the top of stormy peak took a while but was worth it for the view. Clouds rolled in fast, so be on the lookout and give yourself plenty of time to get back in the trees. I think i remember getting off trail and lost for a bit on my way back out. There were cairns but I'd missed one maybe?
