I hiked Aspen to CB. The views and flowers were amazing. I have never seen such spectacular flowers as I did on the CB side.
    1. Bring water shoes. There is still a stream crossing this year that's about 2ft deep;cold and slippery. I used a pole to help my balance after watching 2 people slip and fall in.

    2. Aspen side had a lot of mud and water. I recommend high top waterproof boots. This is different than other years. Typically trail isn't so wet and muddy.

    3. Shuttle has worked out an option so you don't have to walk the 2 miles to and from the snow slide to catch it.

Beautiful day. Not windy on top like it is sometimes. Something to add to the other posts: Get to the trailhead before 8 even on a weekday. This is a very popular trail. Once at the lake I continue on the trail for a bit (.3 miles) - cross the river to the other side. It is fabulous and you get away from all the people. Sit up on a rock outcropping and take in the views and waterfalls. At the base the trail map says the trail is 2.5. This app is accurate- it's 3.2.

Well marked. We lost the trail at one point and scrambled around some boulders and picked it up easily again. Very windy at different points along the trail but pleasant on top. The steep parts are definitely steep. Used poles coming back.

Hiking on a Wed in September has many advantages. I left the trailhead at 7:00 am. There were only about 7 other people on the trail at that time. I wore 3 layers the whole hike. It was VERY windy the top one third of the hike. Cold. Needed full hat and gloves. It took me about 2.5 hours up and 2:15 down. I used hiking poles coming down. Beautiful day. As I came down crossed paths with approximately 30 other people hiking up.
