This is a nice trail, the loop is more like 5 miles but its not very difficult. The waterfall is beautiful but you can see/hear the traffic from the highway below for most of the trail and there isnt much cover. This is great early in the morning.

I took Turkey Trot Trail and Castle Trail to the White House and back. There is minimal shade so I was glad of the overcast weather. I saw the cutest young buck eating mushrooms right off the trail. He was totally nonplussed by my presence. Looking forward to doing this hike again and checking out the castle ruins.

Christin Cordova reviewed Maxwell Falls and Cliff Trail Loop Trail

There is in fact a water fall. I climbed down to it and took pictures to prove it. It is down below the trail and hard to see but if you are listening you can hear the water get louder. Upper Maxwell Falls is at least 15 ft and is tiered into two sections. Its quite pretty. The trail itself is nice. It must have rained overnight because the ground was moist and the forest smelled wonderful. I arrived around 8 am on Saturday to find only a few cars parked. On my way down it was like watching a line from Disneyland. There were so many people. The trail was not to difficult. It didn't just go straight up but would go up and down giving people a chance to catch their breath. The only thing wrong with this trail was all the people that dont pack out their dogie bags. Seriously people, dont be lazy and ruin it for others. Also, the GPS point was off and takes you past the trail head parking lot. I fixed that. Its on the left and a little hidden but at least the GPS point is correct now.
