Christi Farris reviewed Dutchman and Bluff Springs Loop

I may have been slightly not ready for this trail but did it anyways. Took the suggestion of going clockwise and happy with the choice. The big Up was kinda brutal but didn’t slow me down much. The views on this trail are incredible. The creek beds were all flowing thanks to the recent rain and fun to romp around in. I took my time and came in just under 5 hours. Only passed about 12 people going opposite direction. Came out measuring 9.4 miles as well. This was my longest hike yet and I think I managed alright. NO SHADE THO almost got me. It was only 79 degrees when I finished but I got a pretty nasty burn. Cant wait to do again when cooler out!

Long hike but I clocked it just under 7.5 miles. Gorgeous views for the most part. Ran into a herd of mule deer on Willow canyon trail. Glad I did the loop counter clockwise. Love this park! Trail had zero trash on it! Will return to attempt goat camp next time!

Great short hike. Amazing views. Agree that the trail gets more narrow the higher you get. Just be careful! Sad I didn’t see any of the wild burros too!

This was my second attempt at this trail and I was successful! Trail was SUPER busy, would suggest going on a weekday. We had to park at Lost Goldmine Trail down the road and it added mileage to the hike and the views were gorgeous. Hike was fun and lots of rock scrambling as you get closer to the cave. Only downside was SO MANY PEOPLE literally everywhere on this trail and cave. Families bringing babies WITHOUT pack carriers made me nervous. The trail did have loose rocks and I slipped a lot but thankful I had my trekking poles. Prob won’t go back on a weekend. Have fun and ride the wave!

After a few months of weekend only hikes, I decided to take on this longer trek. Totaled almost 7 miles and I found it on the easier side of moderate. Beautiful views as you trek closer to the falls. No water but that’s a good reason to return! Primitive road was not too long and fine for my Mazda 3. Lots of chances to get off trail and have fun wandering around! Probably why I added mileage.

This was my second hike of the day and took me only about 40 mins going clockwise. Loved this as a quick workout. Parts were super rocky but overall a nice hike. Looooots of people on this one!

Decent workout. Got the heart pumping. Very rocky and slippery at times.

This was my second attempt at Turnbuckle (I was out of shape the first time) and it was much more pleasant. The weather wasn’t so good but the trail was well traveled today by many! Loved the views and made it to the Valley Vista which made for great daunting pics.ove this park!

This trail needs more reviews!! What a beautiful hike!!! Lots of desert and rock. The first leg of the trail was kinda meh near the ranch area but afterwards the cactus views were great!! This trail was rocky and sandy and boulderous. I would rate it easy tho! The empty washes were my favorite!! Mesquite trees and huge walls surrounding! Not sure it was part of the mapped trail here but wowza I loved hanging out back in the wash/cavern!! The trail DOES need better markers though as I got off trail at least 6-7 times. Added more distance to my overall hike coming in at 4 miles. Will return!! Road to trailhead was long and bumpy tho so just a heads up!

Very impressed with this hike! Parked at the first trailhead and it added a bit more than an extra mile to my journey. Weather was ideal. Saw only 3 other hikers on my way up and about 6 more coming down. I only hiked to the saddle because I didn’t trust a steep unmaintained trail with my feet. Going up was waaaay easier than the trek down. Need good shoes and balance! Lots of scrambling over rocks but the views are so worth it!!

Christi Farris reviewed Tom's Thumb Trail

Went with a hiking group of about 15 people and stuck to the back. First mile was a killer but I persevered and got to the Thumb in about an hour and twenty minutes. Loved the views the whole way. Saw a tiki face rock that I had to stop and laugh at. Enjoyed starting 2018 off with a challenging hike. Don’t know if I’d do this again but I’m glad I did! Downhill was looooong but I managed not to slip once! BE CAREFUL! Happy new year!!!
