Chrissy P reviewed San Bernardino Peak Trail via Angelus Oaks

The views on this trail were spectacular! The switchbacks in the beginning were a good warm up and then it was a gradual, long uphill climb towards the peak. Nothing technical at all. It was nice to see all of the green. The stream was flowing nicely so I was able to refill my hydration pack with my filter. It was so hot yesterday (mid 80s) so make sure you're prepared for that with plenty of water, snacks, and electrolytes. Peak #4/6 done! Happy hiking!!

The directions on here direct you to the side of the highway for parking (which adds about two miles and a few more switchbacks to your hike) Otherwise, very beautiful hike. A couple steep areas and switchbacks with a few creek crossings. The trail is very dog friendly and everyone we encountered were super nice. The views at the top were very pretty! Would definitely recommend this one! Loved all of the trees and water (can you tell I live in southern CA) haha

Chrissy P reviewed Mount Wilson Loop via Chantry Flats

All you beginner hikers doing the 6 pack...Make sure you print a map and bring trekking poles. You will need both for an enjoyable hike. We also screenshot hikingguy.com for step by step directions. Anyway, relatively nice hike. The views at creek level were gorgeous and it was nice to have some water crossings. The waterfall was a nice detour (no one was there when we went!!!) Be prepared for snakes! We saw two going up Chantry Flats and one was a big ol rattler sunning on the trail. Protect yourself and your dogs! After the camp, the last three miles were pretty tough! A couple washed out gravel areas that made me a little uneasy but overall not a bad ascent. Bring a lot of water and snacks (especially during the week when the cafe is closed) This summit was nothing special, but we got to check another one off our six pack, so I'm not complaining. There is a water fill station up at the top and bathrooms with running water. We took that trail loop down (over by the parking lot) and it was a lot less steep and less dangerous. Pretty views of LA. Checking this one off the list. On to the next!!!
PS-bring a bug net for your face. You'll thank me later for this advice..

Chrissy P reviewed Mt. Baldy via Devil's Backbone Trail

Weather was perfect. We went up Devils backbone and down the snow bowl trail. Still quite a bit of snow towards the summit so please be safe and come prepared with proper equipment, especially if coming up from the snow bowl. Anyway, I brought my dog and he did well, but he's used to hiking in the mountains. So that's another thing to keep in mind when deciding to bring your canine. Lots of extra water and food!!! Happy hiking. 2017 6 pack of peaks #1 complete for me

We were the only ones at the mine. Definitely a little creepy. Beautiful, peaceful hike though...

Hiked this with my dog today and got a good workout in. Saw a coyote up close on the trail so be careful if you have small children or your dogs!

Nature's stairmaster! Definitely challenging at the beginning and at the switchbacks towards the end! I hiked it with my dog and really enjoyed most of it(minus the areas infested with bugs)
Pay attention because we lost the trail a couple of times, but were easily able to get back on track.
Be prepared with plenty of water for you and your dog and bring a snack to enjoy at the top!
Happy hiking:) PS-GPS clocked us at 9.75 miles and 2600 foot incline.
