Great trail. Lots of shade and plenty of good photo opportunities. It can get a little crowded at the top (many take the arial tram up and do a short hike to the peak) but well worth it.

Great trails but they need marked. Whenever I go someplace new I've never worried much about getting lost but I had some trouble today. I wouldn't say I was lost but I was trying to get to double peak park and I ended up at Lake View park (i think that's what it was called). I back-tracked and found my way eventually but just a few well placed signs would make these trails much better.

Awesome trail for an awesome workout. This trail is steep, very steep. And it doesn't give you many breaks until you are at the summit. My only complaint would be the loose rock trail that can be dangerous when coming down.

No restrooms or water anywhere on this hike.

Good trail, lots of positive things to say about it. The only negative would be how crowded it is. Would give 5 stars if there wasn't a conga line going to the summit. Try to avoid the weekend crowd and you'll enjoy your hike much more.

The only bad part of this trail is starting and ending right next to the freeway. Once you get past the freeway and start going up the mountain it is great. The climb to the top of Bernardo Peak is a great workout and the views of the lake are awesome. There is a bathroom located near the foot bridge going across the lake but you must bring plenty of water. Most people bypass the trail leading to the peak so it won't be crowded like Iron Mountain or Mt. Woodson. Even on the weekends you might only see a couple other people going up the mountain.

Great Hike. The trail actually starts on the back side of Lake Poway so it will be a bit longer than the 6.4 miles posted if you are starting at the parking lot. My GPS says I walked 7.7 miles from the parking lot to the summit just up past potato chip rock and back down again.

My first time up the trail It took 2 hours to get up. Today I did it in an hour and fifteen minutes. Spent 45 minutes taking pictures and eating at the summit. It takes me about an hour to get down.
