I can't believe this isn't reviewed more. Perhaps it's because I'm not from around here, but the hilly views really surprised me with how attractive they were. You also get near-immediate payoff here with great views of the city on your way up.

Swaths of this one are probably best as bike trails, but I wasn't bored at all on a solo hike through the drearier paths. This is also a good "build-a-hike" area; I tacked on the loop to the southeast by accident and liked the change of scenery.

    Challenging, serene, not too busy.

A fine view or two, but this one leans heavily on the "family friendly" side; tons of traffic, paved and flat. Would make for a quality & safe trail run, but I like a little more adventure than this.

One of the most satisfying hikes I've ever done. Agree with the counter-clockwise loop. Moderately trafficked, but for good reason. I've rarely had such close access to such cool falls. Was lucky enough to visit after a rain.

The tough-but-not-backbreaking difficulty here was the best part. Views are indeed great, but I did think they were a hair overblown; the hype had me expecting something on par with Harper's Ferry.

Easy to get confused - markings are just ok, and with multiple places to park, you might get turned around without a plan. However, driving the loop and stopping several times could very well get you nearly a whole day well-spent here. You're not supposed to gawk at the mansions on the way down, but I did, and I have no regrets.

The trailhead is a little sneaky; park on E Seminary E of Dulaney Valley, and the trail (as marked) starts on the NW of the intersection. You will have to cross the road.

As marked, trail is not that interesting. But as Alan notes below, huge amount of flexibility, and some very cool lake views as well. Paths are easy to follow, only steep at a few points, and barely at that.
