The meadow at the base of the mountain, around the Cone cemetery, is our favorite spot for wildflowers in the area.

The trail was washed out after recent heavy rains at a point roughly one-third of the way around. However, it you stay to the high side you can get around it and face clear sailing for the rest of the hike.

This is a great hike for two reasons. First, the views from the two observation platforms are fantastic. Second, this is a great example of the flora that exists above 5,000 feet in the Appalachians. It reminded us of the Northwest. But there is no waterfall, unless there's a part of the trail not on the AllTrails map.

Pleasant uncrowded trail with many options to extend or shorten your hike. One or two good views, but mostly forested. Some interesting rock outcroppings along the trail.

Took this trail on July 11, and the wildflowers were spectacular. Don't think I'd take it any other time of the year. Wear long pants cause the trail's overgrown in places. Also, take plenty of bug spray!

Good place to see black bears. They like to come down to the lake.

Easy hike up the mountain to a fire tower, which you can climb if you are fearless. You'll pass an array of wild flowers, a pasture with some cattle, and some fine views.

This is not a moderate hiking trail. It's all rocks and mud and straight uphill. But once you reach the top the views are spectacular. Recommend hiking poles.

Nice easy enjoyable trail. Plenty of blooming rhododendrons in mid-July. Great views at the top of the trail at the Cone Manor.

Got lost twice on this uncrowded and poorly marked trail. Make sure you have a good trail guide when you start out. There are some great views of the Tetons, but other than that, it's mostly hiking through forest and meadow terrain. We were warned about an "aggressive grizzly" near the pasture, so bear spray is a must.

One of the best trails anywhere. Not that difficult, but strenuous because of the elevation gain. Go all the way to the Ranger cabin for the full experience. The scenery is spectacular. Take your bear spray because they enjoy the blueberry bushes you pass early on.
