What a blast!!! A must do if you are visiting Zion. I would suggest catching the first shuttle at 6 a.m. to avoid long waits and crowds. However, you will want to be at the shuttle station at 5:30 because by 5:45 the line was enough to fill the entire shuttle. There were only few groups on the hike up the river when we started in the morning but when we hiked down on the return trip it looked like a population explosion. Also, we used our own hiking boots and socks and were perfectly fine (although it took a couple days to dry). Also, I would strongly suggest using two poles (with rubber tips) for balance when hiking in the river. Much of rocks in the river are 6" to 18" in diameter and can be a slight challenge to navigate. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Great, unique hike and one of my favorites. Started at 5:30 am to beat the heat and crowds. Park is open 24 hours so you can enter at any time and display your park pass as there is no gate attendant in the early hours. There are no strenuous elevation gains but slightly technical at times. There is one area near the beginning of the trail (going clockwise) where you are on top of a "fin". You will see a makeshift ladder to get you down from the fin but DON'T climb down it. Continue walking on top of the fin to the end to find an easy way down.

Short, easy hike. Because of the lack of rain, only three of the pools had water. The tadpoles were large (about the size of a silver dollar) and fun to watch.

What can anyone say about hiking among the sequoia's? Slightly crowded at first but most people are there just to look at the massive trees so it thins out quickly. Never really a steep incline/decline and views never end. If I lived in the area, I would be here every weekend. Oh...we were lucky but get there early for parking. You hate to enter a "five star" rating for every rating but this one certainly deserves it!

We actually hiked East Canyon to O'Melveney Park. Great trail but you have to go around some gates/fences set up by The Gas Company. They really need to create access for hikers/bikers. Anyway, great hike but steep dropping down into O'Melveney Park. Beautiful park with plenty of picnic tables and shade to have some "wine time" after your hike. Only issue is the trail is heavily traveled on the O'Melveney side.

This is a great hike and has some steep inclines to challenge the cardio. There is also a shorter, 2 mile loop but still has a good incline. Both hikes are well marked and easy to follow.

This is a nice out and back trail with historic significance. Ran across several bikers but all had good trail etiquette.

Very nice trail with some relics along the way. I enjoyed the elevation changes and views of the Santa Clarita Valley.
