Beautiful, really neat, really easy hike! Be prepared to TREK down the mountain in your vehicle to get to the trailhead. The falls were really cool and there is a pool at the bottom, but a sign says no swimming, for what that’s worth. Probably because of liability, as this trail is privately owned I think.

GOOGLE MAPS TOOK US DOWN THE WRONG ROAD.

Make sure you stop at the gas station very close to the trail area and they will help you find it. It’s called Hideout Hollow for good reason!!

As far as the trail goes, it was good. However, this trail should probably be considered “Moderate” rather than “Easy.” I have been hiking for a couple years, and have probably been in between 25-35 hikes, and this was in the top 10 regarding difficulty.

The trail is a little more overgrown than usual. Mosquitoes were really bad at the trailhead, and we also saw a timber rattler who wasn’t too happy to see us. Haha

The waterfall was pretty, although the flow was really low when we went (late May)!

There were a couple of very dangerous bluffs on this trail. My wife and I were freaking out with our 1 year old and 3 year old. So keep that in mind if you have kids!

This was actually our second time on this trail. Loved it so much the first time last year we had to come back! Waterfall is maybe 20-30 feet tall. Not huge, but still very pretty. There is also another smaller (in volume) but taller waterfall off to the side. You can swim in the pool below the waterfall, and you can climb right underneath it. It’s very fun. Also some very accessible rock formations nearby for those who would like a little more thrill. Overall, outstanding!
