Charene Robinson reviewed Becker Peak Trail

Great trail for a short out and back adventure. Fantastic views of Echo Lake and Tallac from the ridge and all but the last 400 feet are moderately easy. Started at the Sno-Park and at the avalanche sign, headed into the woods. We programmed the peak coordinates into the gps and just headed straight up through the trees. Easy Peasy! It had rained the day before, so the snow was very icy.

Beautiful lakes and a great hike in from the Glen Alpine Trailhead. We walked the trail all the way to Aloha, hoping to get to Jack's Peak. The Peak was too steep from this approach, but the hike to Aloha and back was beautiful. Here's the full recap.

Great trail into Desolation with many different option for hiking and camping.Very rocky trail so trail shoes are a huge benefit. We brought poles, but didn't use them. Moderate trail and easy to navigate. We hiked from the trailhead to Lake Aloha in an attempt to do Jack's Peak and Dick's Peak. Fairly easy hike and well maintained trail. Bagging the peaks from a clockwise approach isn't an option unless you have some serious climbing skills. We will try it again another time going around Gilmore and heading up to Dick's Peak first. A favorite for sure for a quick getaway when you really need to just get gone for a little while. Easy hike in and although up hill on the way out, it's not too steep. Disperse camped here and spent the day climbing around the waterfall and boulders. Great time! Here's our full write up. http://hustzkergies.blogspot.com/2016/06/shealor-lake.html

A very nicely maintained trail. Waterfall was a great surprise. Found it a very easy trail to navigate and although it was well over 10,000 feet, it didn't feel it. Views at the top were amazing. Here's our full write up.

I've done this hike several times. Always a great time! Hiked it in the heat of summer, during a downpour and a beautiful spring day. Never disappoints. http://hustzkergies.blogspot.com/2016/08/Echo-Lake-to-Aloha.html

Great hike. Picked a perfect day, nice and sunny, but not too hot. Start early or it really heats up when you get above the tree line. We hiked with 3 liters of water and had it been hotter, we would have needed every drop. Chose to have lunch before the peak as the chipmunks and yellow jackets wanted to share it with us. It was a good call. Beautiful views from the top and the trail was very easy to follow. Only complaint would be the amount of people that were out there. Would be a great decision to hike on a weekday. The weekend is very busy. Great hike!

We hiked Job's Peak as the third peak in the Tahoe Triple Crown which includes Freel Peak, Job's Peak and Job's sister. It was a crazy windy day with gusts over 50mph at Job's sister. The descent down the back side of Job's Sister was crazy sandy and very deep. We slid most of the way down. 12 miles in total. A GREAT way to spend the day, but would avoid a super windy day. For the most part, the trails were easy to follow. We have a full write up of all of the peaks at http://hustzkergies.blogspot.com/2016/09/TahoeTripleCrown.html
