This is an unmarked trail, but a great little hike that is off the beaten path of where everyone else is.

Loved this hike!! The only problem was that there were soooooo many people. It was 105 outside, but we started the hike around 11am so we hit the hottest part of the day while walking through cool water and a shadowy canyon, definitely a great choice! We rented walking sticks from the Zion Outfitters for $7 and it was the best decision we could have made. We all wore our hiking boots with wool or neoprene socks. One of the guys chafed a bit because of the lining in his running shorts, so be sure to pick the appropriate clothing. Overall one of the best hikes I've ever done!

Did this on 6/17. The weather was great the whole way, but it was really windy. Most of the snow is gone, there are only a few patches to hike through. There were a ton of people and many brought dogs and let them off leash for the majority of the trail.

Great trail. I'm looking forward to doing it again once the snow is gone.

A few notes about the conditions:

Once you get to the last switchback before Loch Lake expect to be hiking on snow the consistency of wet sand for the rest of the way.

Be careful through the trees around and past Loch as the real trail and the winter/snow trail aren't always the same thing. I suggest having the app open for this part so you can attempt to match up your route.

When you get to tree line it is a large open snowfield that is very vertical. The climb to Glass Lake is very doable in good hiking boots, but you need to make sure you are in some that have tread that will grip the snow. If you follow in the established footprints of previous hikers it is much easier.

There is another snowfield between Glass and Sky Pond, but there isn't much vertical.

And one final thing: I highly suggest bringing a raincoat or something water proof to use as a sled on the decent. It makes things a lot easier and it is SO much fun! :)
