Catherine Gordon reviewed Millennium Way: Cubbington and Offchurch

Quite a pleasant walk, with some variety; the nicest part is when you reach Offchurch and if you timed it right, it’d be worth getting a drink at The Stag.

The HS2 works at Cubbington meant a slight detour of the path through what was previously land for crops. This is only going to get muddier as the autumn progresses and we had to navigate some very big puddles towards the end. As a result, boots are a must.

We really enjoyed this walk. It was varied and interesting and not difficult to follow. As others have said, a big plus point is the lovely stopping-off places along the route. We arrived at Packwood House just in time for afternoon tea - a very civilised way to (almost) end a lovely afternoon’s walk.

Starting point is gorgeous but this trail is impacted by significant works at its edge, after the earliest stages.

Some steep climbs reward you with fabulous views, but we suggest you Google map the walk if you want to stick to this trail; it’s easy to get on the wrong path (albeit not too difficult to get back on it).

Lovely walk, with the fabulous Mount Inn handily situated in Stanton for pre or post-walk refreshments! Steep hill climb at first and check you’re still on the path; the Cotswold Way is like a rabbit warren of paths.

Easy, pleasant walk across open fields to/from The Saxon Mill.

Lovely walk, mostly on paved tracks, with a very pleasant section along the Grand Union Canal. Stop for a drink at The Cape of Good Hope.

One of the last fields you pass through before returning to the starting point (just before you reach the golf course) has a new fence that leaves little room for the public right of way, but it was still possible to get along the path.
