Nice easy hike. Took our 4month old puppy for her first hike here. Pretty heavily traveled , lots of dogs, nice views, shaded.

Awesome hike. We stayed at the Rockhouse Branch campsite. The whole hike was beautiful. We stopped for about 2 hours and swam at the big bridge on the river. We were the only ones there. In fact we went almost 24 hours without seeing anyone else. Between the first bridge and our campsite there were several very large trees over the trail and a beehive nest somewhere in it and my daughter was stung several times. It's not in an easy place to get around. We had plenty of water sources for filtering. Came back to the lookout near the parking lot to watch the eclipse. I look forward to doing this again when the leaves change in the fall.

Very heavily trafficked and depending on parking you can potentially add 1.5 miles each way because you'll be forced to park so far away. The trail was fine for everyone in our group (age 7-45). Beautiful hike.

Great for families. We've been several times in the summers and the kids can wade at the bottom of the falls. Steep decent to the falls and of course you have to go back up.

This was not nearly as hard as I expected however if you aren't in good shape it would be difficult. Even Trail in some places but very rocky in others. Gorgeous day hike and well worth it. My measurement was much different than other people as it said we hiked between 8 and 8 1/2 miles. We arrived on a Saturday about 9am. Took us 4 hours 10 minutes with a nice break at the top. It was much busier on the way out and we passed 40+ Boy Scouts and their dads heading to a camping site which looked to be already full. So go early. The parking lot on the Alabama side was full but the one down the road in Tn was not. We also had our dog with us and he did great.
