Hiked this 2 weeks ago and the bear grass was out in full force! So beautiful. It's a good first of the season hike.

A well-worn trail with peek-a-boo views as you climb to the top. Takes just under an hour and well worth it.

I do this hike (and the surrounding trails) this time every year to watch the sun rise. All the trails around Sunrise are wonderful hikes. Pick one and you can't go wrong. For the last 8 years I've encountered numerous deer, a cow elk, chipmunks, mountain goats, owls, and even a mountain lion. Went up this morning in complete cloud coverage for sunrise and watched a large white fox scurry off with a rabbit for breakfast. Nature and the wildlife in this area never disappoints.

Really great hike. I wouldn't recommend this hike for kids unless they love hiking. There are also a few nice campsites ideal for first-time backpackers. Space at the lake is limited, so go early if you want a good chill spot.

Super easy day hike. The best part is the first set of waterfalls about a mile in (be sure to take the path down). The only down side was the last .6 miles were so overgrown we didn't make it to Boulder Ford Campsite. The 3+ mile dirt/gravel road to the trailhead is very pot hole ridden so drive slow. If you have kids or older dogs, it's a great hike.

Began our hike at 8am and were back to the car by 11:20am (included the hike, taking pictures, snacking, and leisurely walking around the lake). Mostly shaded trail, a little muddy. View at the lake was worth the reward, but there were tons of mosquitos there. You'll for sure break a sweat on the way up. The decent down was surprisingly easier considering the steep trail and all the wet rocks.
