Would suggest going counter clockwise if you can for better views. This mapped trail is actually a few different ones. Pretty views of wide open fields. You cross a few roads in this park at the top and have some picnic tables available to you.
Also, this is one of those trails with a lot of little jagged rocks on the path - so booties for your pups is a good idea.

    Very nice hike.
Decent variety - good portion of trail you are walking along a stream. In June, this was a lot of rushing water. Not the little trickles I'm used to in CO mountains. Three bridges in total. Some pure woodsy areas, other wide open views of wooded mountain tops, and of course the lake at the end offering a white capped mountain view on one side.

Fairly easy trail as well. Going to the lake it is a slow and steady incline. Nothing strenuous. No up and downs or zig zags. Going back, you get the downhill.

Suggest putting booties on your pups for this hike - the trail is filled with those smallish jagged rocks at the beginning portion. I had not and my poor pup was limping slightly at the end from a few cuts.

    Wow.
Definitely worth the drive and $20 entry fee. Tough hike at times to get to the top. Gorgeous when you're there - sand dunes as far as you can see. Minus the temp, I felt like I could be in the Sahara.

Did this hike at sunset as another viewer suggested, and it was stunning. Bare feet the whole way. Had my two dogs with me and I'd suggest getting booties for those bringing theirs. The paths to and from the dunes were lined with small cactus. Also, even if the sand isn't hot, I suspect running on this was pushing their paw pads apart. Both started showing signs of paw irritation and ended up putting them on - they went from 0 to 100 real quick.

This was by far the most distinctive hike I've done. Very happy hiker here.

Fairly easy super cool trail. Worth the $20 entrance fee. Also, get the brochure - if you don't want to spend the $1, then they let you borrow a copy to return when done. Very interesting. You get to climb up any and all ladders to go explore. Lots of little rooms. They even have preserved some art! The trail is super crowded (granted we did go over Memorial Day Weekend) so would suggest going early. As we were leaving BUSES full of people were arriving. As it was there was a line for the ladders starting behind us. Definitely continue from the Main Trail Loop onto the Alcove House Trail. Lots of long tall ladders to climb up the side of the canyon. Slightly scared of heights so it was a bit nerve racking for me, but great! Hike this trail!

Easy stroll with some pretty views. You get fields of grass and, as the name suggests, glances of the ocean. The suggested trail on this site doesn't exactly exist anymore - we tried to follow but lots of sections were just too overgrown. There are however a lot of intersecting trails in this area. Would suggest just picking what you like and going from there.

Gorgeous hike. Highly suggest if you can only do one in the area. Variety to the trail - so many spectacular views along the mountain sides, some walks though tree lined paths, others more open areas at the high point, glances at the ocean in the distance. Slightly questionable following the loop as there are a few branches and not all labeled. Would suggest bringing up the map on your phone before starting if you care to stick to this and confirm you're not lost. Not too too crowded. Could see lots of rock climbers in the distance along the trails.

    Gorgeous trail.
Very short, but steep. I'd still give yourself a couple of hours. Sore lats afterwords from the 'climbing' involved (tip - crab walk on the way back down in some of those steep places and it will not be as bad as you're expecting). Honestly, I'm a bit scared of heights and the majority of this trail had me taking steadying breaths. Up a rock face with all of its contours and where there are various man-made footholds if too smooth / steep. Trail markers along the rock face consisted of mini stumps made out of rocks enclosed in wire - easy to follow. ...This might be making it sound harder than it is. It's not - do it and make it to the end. Spectacular along every step of the way and such a fail to miss out on all of it.

The views were absolutely stunning. This trail was such a pleasant surprise. Would recommend to anyone visiting Sedona as a must.

The actual Devil's Bridge is worth it. Glad I went and saw, would still recommend, but getting their was not a great journey.

Cons: The first part and majority of this trail is extremely easy with not a lot of change (scenery). It had such high traffic you could not get away from other people's conversations. Not just foot traffic either, but a lot of ATVs and jeeps. We were continually hearing them, having to get out of the way to then breath their exhaust fumes / eat their dust.

Pros: View from the top & Devil's Bridge. While waiting in line to go out onto the Devil's Bridge, it was kind of scary watching everyone as it was such a high drop. So cool. Again, even though the trail itself was not my favorite, the bridge was excellent and I'm glad I got to see it.

Gorgeous trail. Please make time to go to the very last lake at the very top. While the entire trail is scenic and impressive, the very end is the absolute best, most awe inspiring view. It is worth it. And yes, that last steep long incline is worth it too. It is a long day hike. More than 8.7 for sure. Was recording, but phone died - I would say closer to 11.
