Caitlin Leimbach reviewed Mount Cammerer via Low Gap Trail

This hike was fantastic. Park at the lower parking area of Cosby campground and you will see a sign for the Low Gap Trail to the right of the lot. Follow this until you get on the Appalachian Trail and then follow the signs to Mount Cammerer. We went on a weekday in September and only saw 4 people the entire hike. Plenty of space to park. We started at 8am and it took us around 5.5 hrs - that’s with some photo breaks :) The trail is tree covered until the very end so that helped with the heat. My only complaint is all the little bugs flying around my face. But thats what I expected for a humid day in TN. It is a lot of elevation gain but worth the amazing 360 view of the Smokies. Also to note, I did record our hike using the AllTrails app and it clocked us closer to 11.5-12 miles!

Perfect morning hike. We started around 9:30 and there was plenty of parking by the trailhead. The way up was a good workout (moderate due to the incline), with a great view at the top, and nice, shaded and easy descent down. If I lived in the area I would frequent this trail. Seemed well liked by runners and mountain bikers.

Great trail, but we hiked on a cloudy day and it started raining when we reached the summit. Go on a clear day when you can see at the top! Easy at the start, more moderate toward the end.

We hiked this in September and it was incredible! I had no idea we would see so many peaks in the distance. The first part of the trail is woodsy, then much more exposed (it got a little hot!) and steep with some rocks to climb over at points. The view at the top was more than worth it. This is in my top five hikes for sure!

Caitlin Leimbach reviewed Angels Landing Trail

Hiked Angel’s Landing this afternoon and it was beautiful. There were a few wet spots from the morning rain, but otherwise dry. There were A LOT of people so take your time! It took us about 3.5 hours round trip and that was with a couple snack stops and waiting for people to go up and down.
