Caitlin Brown reviewed Heughs Canyon Trail

This was my first time hiking this trail. You have to park at the bottom of the neighborhood and walk to the hike, which is along someone's house, and the trail begins. It was a super nice day, about 70 degrees, beginning of April, but the hike was a little rough since the trees were still dead, it got pretty hot. I wouldn't rate this as hard, more moderate (just because of the heat, there is an incline but it's doable)

My dogs loved it, especially since there was a creek they got to play in the whole way up. Once you reach the top you have to climb across some boulders to get too the waterfall. I brought along rain boots so I could walk closer to the waterfall and enjoy it with out the freezing cold water. I would recommend this hike!

This was my first time doing this hike. The first part was very hot, no shade at all. Once you get into the canyon it's very beautiful and you hike up along the trail. My dogs loved playing in the water. The waterfall is far more beautiful then I expected. There was still some snow at the base of the waterfall and I had a light long sleeve shirt that was nice since it was a but chilly at the top. I headed up around noon and was back to my car at 1:30. Fairly moderate hike and one I definitely recommend!

A far drive if you live in Salt Lake but a gorgeous one once you get into the Uintas. This was a rocky but pretty easy hike, what made it hard was the elevation. The view around all side are stunning.y dog was able to do it and I highly recommend this.

I wouldn't call the a hike. More of a nice stroll but very pretty. Was fun to let the 1 1/2 year old walk along the boardwalk. Very busy area. No dogs.

Insanely short and insanely easy. It's a small lake but it is beautiful. The drive alone to the top is pretty enough! No dogs.

Overall a pretty great hike. The rope swing is a cute idea. Me and my dog kept going after that. Got probably 30 minutes past that and wasn't sure how much farther it went. But the sun was beginning to set and I wasn't prepared with flash lights so we had to turn around. A moderate rated hike at the beginning (entered on the north side so it was very hot and no shade until we got into the canyon) also, getting down to the waterfall was not easy. Very muddy and my dog struggled a bit.

I would rate this as a moderate hike, we found the waterfall and had to climb down, but we made it. We didn't go much farther after that. My dog did fine.

I really enjoyed this hike minus the fact I went up early on a Saturday and it was so busy. I definitely prefer this on a weekday. It was a little harder for my puppy since the end is fairly rocky and it was slippery for him trying to get up. I would say a easy hike, lots of little kids.

This is one of my favorite hikes in Millcreek. A bit harder and longer then the others. The view is amazing and a good hike to wear out the dogs.

Not a hard hike. Very beautiful and the end is super pretty especially in the fall when the colors are changing. My dog loves to play in the water so that alone makes it worthwhile.

Ferguson is one of my absolute favorite hikes in Salt Lake City. It's a longer hike and harder then anything in Millcreek. The whole hike is beautiful, little creeks, rock climbers, dogs are welcome and overall its pretty shaded. It's perfect. If you plan to go up to watch the sunset make sure to bring a flashlight for the way down.

Pipeline is one of the easiest trails in Millcreek. It's nice and easy for dogs. Good view at top and isn't a super long hike either.

Pretty and easy hike. I would say the only thing that makes it a moderate hike is that there is no shade on the way up. Perfect spot for sunrise and sunsets, and you can take your dogs.

Super easy hike, I would call it more of a walk up. The view of the city is awesome and especially beautiful at sunset. Typically a crowded spot.

Loved this hike. Very easy and not long. Once we got to the slots that's when the water was unavoidable and absolutely freezing. Worth it, but freezing. On the way down I saw a woman heading up with rain boots. Great idea! Our wool socks and hiking shoes didn't do the trick and we didn't stay as long as we would have liked when our toes felt like they were going to fall off. Highly recommend this one!
