Hiked it today. Got a three hour jump on the opening of the parking lot so we were the first in! So much better. Saw mule deer. Great views as always and the solitude I crave. Went all the way up to where you would need to swim the pool to go further. Heading back was crowded which is why I give four stars and not five

Just ok. Getting to the top and finding a huge tourist trap is a drag. So many 14's in CO. Bummed I wasted the hiking day on this one

Great hike. Did it a few years back. Made it a 2 day camping above tree line in a very uncomfortable rock pile! Hike to top next morning. Great views. Threat of lightening made us head down after only being on top about 15 min. Met a 92 year old woman at the top that climbs it by herself in one day!!!! Know the signs of altitude sickness and get down if you start to feel it.

Love it. Great elevation change. Breathtaking views. Multiple climate zones. In summer get up and off by 10 am or you will be in real danger of lightening strikes. Top area is well above tree line and the granite is a tremendous target.

Best training hike in Phx. Lots of traffic. Parking can be tough during the season. Great 360 views of phx metro area.

Breathtaking. You feel small walking among those trees.

Great trail. Hot in summertime. The walk up to the first plateau is great but go to the top and look over into secret canyon wilderness. Just awesome. One of my favorite places in the world. Bring plenty of water.

Never saw another hiker in 2 days. I was in great shape and this trail gave me all I could handle. If you want solitude and rugged canyon beauty, this is the trail. Bring water to stash along the way. Don't screw with this trail in the heat unless you are an absolute stud. It will be happy to kill you.

I like solitude on my hikes. This trail is so awesome. It's long, hard, dry and very steep in some places. The perfect south rim hike.

Have lunch at Hermit Rapid. You'll never forget it

Just awesome. Take a side trip to ribbon falls. Eat lunch there. Be in shape and don't take anyone with you that isn't in great shape! I've learned this the hard way!!! Enjoy this bucket list hike

Do your self a favor. Do Kaibab trail both ways. Bright Angel is gross. Really long. Really crowded and lots more mule traffic which means lots more black puddles of mule piss.

So sad to see this beautiful old haunt of mine overrun with hundreds of loud rude touristas. I grew up in the canyon and would go up for days at a time to camp. The only people you would meet were the occasional naked hippie couple and we all respected each other's privacy and experience. The rocks and cliffs are still awesome. The shade keeps it cool. Just too many darn people. Very sad.
