Really warm day today..and since it was Memorial Day today it was moderately crowded. I hiked the "loop" and because of the tourists it only took an hour. Alltrails says my moving time was 27 min and elevation gain was 390 feet. The creek held a steady low stream of water and the heart was partially filled.

This was an easy out and back trail that is easy enough for all ages. The only problem was getting my Mom and another female friend of mine to realize that this rock has stood the test of time and that they weren't going to fall. It's not strenuous at all and most of the path is black asphalt. 52 switchbacks make the 848 ft monolith negotiable for all. Nice views up and down the Columbia River and the Bonneville Dam can be seen - even better with binoculars.

As I lived in Vancouver, Wa. this was a spring "dehibernation aka get off my a$$" hike and would do this a few times each month during the few nice months in the PacNW. I would either start at the Multnomah Falls or Wahkeena Falls trailhead and head to the ridgeline and would cross over to either falls depending on which way I was going. The large spring/summer crowds on the Multnomah Falls were rather annoying considering some would push baby strollers up an otherwise narrow trail. When you get past the lookout platform at the top of Multnomah Falls and start heading up the canyon, the crowds start dissipating and the canyon behind the falls offers a beautiful trip up to the ridgeline. The ridgeline between the two falls was VERY well maintained.

Short and easy hike. Trail wasnt well marked so I jumped up on a few rock formations. Finally found CR...lots of compacted snow from previous hikers around the base and on the rocks. INCREDIBLE VIEW of the lake. Great hike for rambunctious kids. You can actually spend hours up there.
