Amazing hike. Good bit of exposure but so cool. Get there early and off season and beat the crowds.

Did this one a few years ago. Awesome views with lots of switchbacks. A good pull up the mountain but well worth it.

Completed Gothic’s today. Trail was in good shape...a little wet but I would say it is always that way. Streams were down. Only negative is theres some spots still heavy with melting snow so some post holing. Other than that she is prime for the taking. Feel free to contact me on Insta if you want more info. Trails are really nice but a bit muddy in places. Mainly due to the amount of traffic. Lots and lots of people due to the multiple road access points. Some extremely beautiful sites, rock formations, and waterfalls. Bridle trail is a horse trail on the way back that is a bit of a trick to find but well worth it ...I don’t think I saw a single person on it. It lays right behind the ranger station and you have to cross a creek but beats going back through stuff you have already seen and the log jam of people. Be prepared for lots of dogs as well. Rangers are exceptional and very helpful.

Very pretty and an amazing contrast to the high desert around it. Nice to add to a trip to Guadalupe peak or Carlsbad Caverns.

Good trail. Pretty good pull ..3000 ft. Views are excellent just be sure to bring some crampons or boots with real good tread. Very icy..not so bad on the way up but coming down it was a challenge.

Pretty good pull to the top and then 1.5 miles out the trail which is very much the same kind of terrain. Rock wall scramble isn’t bad at all. Just keep you mind on what you are doing and put one hand and foot in front of another. Views are great but it can get a little crowded up top.

Very nice easy hike with great views at the end. I used this as a break the next day after Emory Peak and then hit South Rim. Very nice.

Excellent hike with great views. Hike has many different ecosystems and the view is as good as it gets. Pretty good pull to the top but well worth it. You can hit Emory peak on the backside as you are finishing up.

Good hike. The pull up out of there definitely tests your legs. Camp sites along the river are gorgeous...I will have to come back. Be a fun weekender.

Close to my house so I wanted to get my dog out since we had rain over in the mountains this weekend. Nice little trail with bathrooms and water available. I have been hitting this one since I was in school. Good running trails as well if you want to break up the monotony of running on pavement.

Not a bad hike at all. Good short one if you just want to get out. Campsites are really nice ...it was a bit muddy but overall a solid place to get away.

Good hike if you are looking for something to get miles in. You can drive in on the dirt road and save yourself approx 2 miles at the beginning and end of just walking on a dirt road. Lots of gravel so you may want to protect your dogs feet if they are sensitive. Probably best to go when the leaves are off so you can see more...be prepared for not a lot of water. The map makes it look like the river is right beside the trail but its not...couple falls that come down off the mountain that are good sources but theres only two or three.

Very nice loop. We went by way of Alice Lake around to Toxaway. Lots of good scenery and alpine views. Still a good bit of snow going over the pass. We had to make our way without a trail for a good bit but found our way through. There was a cornice at the top of the pass so had to do some light scrambling over a rocky area to get past it. Think the milage is closer to 20 miles. Water is plentiful. Great trip.

Nice trail that has lots of scenery and waterfalls. Campsites are plentiful and very nice. Only negative I saw was it seemed a lot of people that hike there let their dogs run loose. I had mine with me on a leash and had some sketchy moments when multiple dogs would crowd around her. Thankfully she did well and didn’t get aggressive ...with the wrong dog it could easily end up being a bad situation. If you can’t control your dog with voice commands they need to be on a leash. But other than that it was a great day to be out in the WV hills.

Really good little trip. Nice day hike or a nice overnight trip to the falls. Good pull uphill both ways but nothing brutal. Falls are gorgeous

Very nice hike with amazing views. We had good weather except for a brief rain shower but the other than that beautiful. Would not mind getting back out and doing it again. We didn't go over the pass to Tully's lake but would like to do it sometime.

Good solid hike with some nice views. First time on the AT so that was very cool. We started at the Thunder Ridge Wilderness area and finished at the James River. Like 16.9 miles. If you have never had the opportunity to hit any sections of the AT I would highly recommend it. We met a couple from Denmark and a cook from Switzerland. Very cool hearing their stories. Also enjoyed how the folks at the camping areas help each other...We were being offered mac and cheese and hadn't even put our gear down. Lol.
