Best view of downtown Salt Lake City and the whole valley for a relatively easy hike. It’s kind of steep in places but it only took me 13 minutes to get up and I’m not in the best shape!

Completed on 5/13/19 at 2pm - it was a very nice 80 degree day. The trail is a little rocky at some points and the water has washed it into a tight V which isn’t the easiest to hike on at other points. However this is a fun, short hike with a big payoff for a view at the end and some nice places to sit (made out of rocks) to take it all in. Great hike to work on getting into better shape! I made it up in under 40 minutes and I’m not in the best shape.

Started Sun Jul 23 @ 10am - The main parking lot was full so we parked on the main street, no big deal. Took us 2hr 15min to reach the lake with plenty of stops to catch our breath and drink water. We passed a few groups and had a few groups pass us, so I'd say it was pretty average. There are steep sections followed by flatter sections which provided nice breaks. I wish I would have started at 7-8am instead of 10. It was hot coming down. Took 1 hour 55 min down. I used poles for the first time on this hike and felt it helped a lot.

This is basically a non-hike because it's right next to the road. If you park in the lot in the upper loop of the "s" there is a trail which goes up and crosses the road at the top of the "s". Once you're on the other side of the road, find your way down to the river and follow it up about 30-50 yards until you can see the waterfall. Do not take the established trail to the right which starts a steep path to the east. That's a different hike. There are different ways up to the waterfall, either crossing the river or not, but you need to stick to the river. There is what appears to be the opening to an abandoned mine shaft near the waterfall as well.
