Brittany Mordarski reviewed Wadsworth Falls Trail

The walk to the falls itself is nothing much to speak of, but the falls are amazing! Excellent spot for some photo-ops. Trails are well maintained and nice and wide. Good for a casual stroll, particularly with pups.

Hiked this in flip flops as I forgot my sneakers on vacation. If I can do it in flip flops, anyone can do it! The “cardiac stairs” are brutal but the rest of the hike is quiet and manageable as far as gain goes. The view at the top is worth any fatigue you have on the way up!!! Go through the bunker....so cool.

A wonderful hike which rewards you with excellent views at the top! Much of the trail is rock and slab... bring proper footwear. It’s a lot of gain over a short distance, but still, a moderate classification is appropriate I think. Also, there’s many flat spots on the way up to stop and rest, which also have amazing views. Biggest downfall is that once you get to the summit it is beyond crowded with people who drive up. Maybe it’s just me but it looses some of the majesty being surrounded by people who burned gas, not energy haha. There’s a spot about .1 miles before the summit that feels like it might be the top... perfect spot to grab some photos and enjoy your accomplishment away from touristy eyes.

Views of the cove and ocean are amazing! The walk itself is nothing remarkable.

Brittany Mordarski reviewed Mount Lafayette and Franconia Ridge Trail Loop

Challenging but worth it!! I’m not the most athletic hiker, but we made it through the whole loop in 9.5 hours with our dog (of hiking time. Probably closer to 10 1/4 with rest breaks) so many people can probably finish it faster. There’s more than a couple of technical rock climbs so be prepared and bring the correct footwear! It can get slippery. I have done the falling waters trail a few times and now having done the full loop I highly recommend taking this path counterclockwise. The descent is much easier down bridal path than falling waters. Also, falling waters is a steeper ascent but it’s over quicker and you get to the summits that much faster! Very windy at the top today with minimal visibility due to the clouds, but still worth it! I can only imagine the views on a clear day! Will be back to try this one again.

Nice flat walk with pretty views of the lake. Wide trails make for easy passing. Make sure to stop and see the castle before continuing the lake loop!

Nice trail with 2 small waterfalls that offer beautiful photos. My favorite spot was about 1/2 way up on some of the rock formations....it was a perfect spot to sit and check out the views. Very tranquil. Well maintained and wide enough for people to pass easily. Great for dogs as well. My pup completed with no problems at all!

Brittany Mordarski reviewed The Flume Trail

This is definitely a walk, not a hike. Costs around $16 to get in (I'm pretty sure it was about that much) which is a bummer. That being said, the Flume is absolutely worth the price of admission, and I would pay it twice without blinking! Stunning walkway around the falls, and beautiful rock formations. Breathtaking. My only complaint is that it's not dog friendly. My pup would have loved this walk! Wish pets were allowed. Otherwise, no complains here!

Brittany Mordarski reviewed Arethusa Falls Via Bemis Brook Trail

One really step uphill which felt more like rock climbing than hiking, but otherwise one of the easier "moderate" trails. Somewhat narrow but very passable for our party of 3, plus 1 dog. Stops at all the falls offer a great rest break if you're getting tired, and the main attraction at Arethusa is breathtaking! Beautiful photos to be had, and just generally a nice spot to sit and cool off after a hike.

Somewhat steep at parts, but levels out quickly. Can get narrow, but still, very doable footing. Made it with no problems with my dog. Falls are gorgeous with plenty of opportunity for photo-ops. Trail head is a little hard to see when you cross the train tracks (we weren't sure which way to go initially) but clearly marked once you find it. Park at the top of the road near the trailhead, or else the walk from your car is worse than the hike itself!

Beautiful falls! Worth trekking back up all those steps!

Nice walk, quick loop with a pretty view of the resistor. Gets very buggy in the summer from all the water. Great for dogs, not technical at all

Brittany Mordarski reviewed Georgiana and Harvard Falls Trail

Starts off very easy, more of a walk than a hike, but the last 1/4 mile or so feels like you do all 700ft of the gain straight up! A work out, but so worth it when you make it to Georgiana Falls. Beautiful spots to grab some photos, and to sit and enjoy a snack by the falls. A little narrow and some rock climbs/hopping, so can be tricky for dogs who aren't used to that sort of hiking.

Brittany Mordarski reviewed Lonesome Lake Trail

Somewhat steep at parts, but the views of the lake are amazing and a nice reward for all the hard work. Very dog friendly, but the walk around the lake can get muddy, if that bothers you. Definitely check out Lonesome Lake hut!
