Brittany Cleghorn reviewed Mount Tammany: Red Dot and Blue Dot Loop Trail

This was a really fun hike! It's definitely steep going up the red dot trail, but so worth the climb! At certain points you are climbing up large rocks and the climb is pretty steep. The views at both look out points were spectacular. You get such a great view of the river, the cliff, the mountains, and rt.80. The main look out at the top is great to sit at and eat lunch and talk to other hikers. It does get pretty crowded, but there is more than enough room sit and enjoy the view. I like others would absolutely recommend going UP the red trail and DOWN the blue. The red trail is very rocky and very steep. I would say that going down the steep rocks and cliffs would be slightly dangerous. It was a great trail, and I not only recommend going to checknit out, but I myself would go back to hike it again!

Definitely a nice walk through the woods along a nice overlook. The trail is definitely easy. It is clearly marked and the path is clear of rocks. I went with a 7 year old and a couple other people who are NOT hikers and they did just fine! This is a family friendly trail and has some spectacular views. I will definitely be visiting here again.

I enjoyed this Trail when I went. I went with my mom and my seven-year-old son. None of us had any issues on the trail whatsoever. There are very few areas where it gets rocky and of course some spots were tree roots arise on the trail. Other than that the trail is very easy to maneuver. There is a very beautiful waterfall that is nice to take pictures in front of. We passed a lot of people with dogs which was really nice to see. It seems as though a lot of the dogs were swimming, so if you have a dog that likes water this is definitely a place for you to go! I will go back to this trail with my son again sometime in Fall to see it when the leaves have changed colors.

Brittany Cleghorn reviewed Ricketts Glen - Lake Rose Loop/ Falls Trail

This is by far one of my favorite trails. I have lived in PA all of my life and Ricketts Glen is the most beautiful state park I have visited. This Trail in particular views over 20 waterfalls and each one of them is breathtaking. The trail is rather long and extremely steep in some parts. It is rather slippery and you do have to be very mindful of where you are walking. On that note, my seven-year-old son hiked this with me and didn't have any issues. I suggest packing a lunch and sitting down to eat in front of one of the waterfalls along your hike. If you get the chance definitely hiked this Trail! It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

HOLY HORSE POOP!!! I enjoyed the company I was with, but that was it! This trail was AWFUL ! The trail is marked as multi-use...which is fine, horses DESTROYED this trail!! My friend and I hardly saw anything because our eyes were glued to the ground the entire time because of all of the horse poop and mud from the torn up patches of "path" from the horse activity. I'm all for sharing trails with dogs, bikers, runners, ect, but these horses completely ruined this trail. I'm shocked that it is even marked for hikers to use at all. Even the people on the horses were rude and inconsiderate. When they were coming up to you, you had to trample through mud and poop, and squeeze next to a tree until they passed at their own slow pace. I will definitely NOT GO BACK to this trail or hike any other trail at this park where horses are permitted to go. I will have to do some research and find some trails for HIKERS ONLY because it is a beautiful park, but this was a miserable experience because of the condition the horses left this trail in.

Beautiful scenery! I couldn't find the exact trail I intended to hike, but just picked a trail and started to follow it. I'm so glad I did. It was a pleasant surprise around each bend. I passed a 'pet cemetery' where people mark stones for there deceased pets. It was a beautiful site to see. So many people seem to visit this exact place and it is so well kept. There were amazing views of the reservoir, and high desert. I would recommend checking out the Pueblo Reservoir to anyone!

Beautiful hike around the red rocks. It was pretty trafficked but it was really nice to see so many people out and enjoying themselves and the sites. The rock formations are breathtaking!

This is by far the hardest hike I have done so far. It was my absolute favorite too! I'm from PA, so the elevation was hard for me, but I made it to the top and it was breathtaking! It was VERY difficult, but worth it. I started this with two family members and a friend (all from PA), all of them turned around and went back after 15 minuets. I'm so happy that I continued along. I met some of the nicest people who I tagged along with and saw the most beautiful view of CO. I was told to take the Bare trail down to the bottom, and I'm glad I did. The trail on the way down had so many beautiful sites and views. I would recommend this trail/hike to anyone who is in good physical condition. (it really is extremely difficult)

This was a cute, fun and scenic trail. It was pretty trafficked and hard to walk in some spots because of all of the people, but it was still a nice experience. The waterfalls were beautiful, and the trail was very easy to walk on. It was not steep/rocky/slippery from what I remember. It seemed good for all ages. I saw a few older people walking with ease, and my seven year old son was easily able to complete the trail. If you are in the area and want to walk and see some falls I definitely recommend checking this place out.

Brittany Cleghorn reviewed Bushkill Falls Red Trail

I have been here a few times and I enjoy the falls. I have always done the red trail, which is the longest/most difficult that Bushkill has to offer. The hike itself is fairly simple. My seven year old son did the red trail and had no issues. There are some steep inclines and many steps, but if you are in 'normal' shape it is not really difficult. The falls are beautiful, and the surroundings along the trail are very nice to look at. The thing that I don't love about Bushkill falls is that the price to get in per person is pretty steep! There are SO MANY hiking trails in the Pocono area with beautiful waterfalls that are FREE. I do like Bushkill, but would suggest looking online for trails with waterfalls in and around the area that are free.
