Absolutely beautiful area. We decided to take the blue trail which starts off walking along the lake and then you start cutting through more of a woodsy scenery uphill. The blue trail has a breathtaking view at the top. It looked like rain so we turned around after the viewpoint but I would definitely go back. There's a parking lot so you don't have to park on a side street which is nice. Great day for a family outing.

Relatively short and easy terrain. The history behind this location is also a plus. There is a nice parking lot so you should have no problem finding a place to park. There's also one bathroom which is convenient, not the cleanest when I was there but it will suffice. While I was there we took the blue trail which had a beautiful view overlooking the water at the top. Kid and pet friendly. You can go fishing as well.

The beginning of the trail to the tower is steep but levels out. There's a beautiful view after the steep incline so it is definitely worth it. The tower was closed when we went there so we didn't get to look inside but there is a museum and gift shop. Highly recommend the trail if you like a beautiful view up high and a touch of history as well.
