Bri Brenneman reviewed Havasu Falls and Mooney Falls Trail

Just got back from this trail yesterday! It is very hot in the Grand Canyon, so be advised. LOTS of water, electrolytes, and sodium should be packed to stay safe. Hike in the early morning or after 5pm in the heat of summer. It can be dangerous otherwise. The trail is very easy to follow so hiking with headlamps is fine. The first two mile descent/ascent into the Grand Canyon is the toughest. This is the most beautiful hike I've done, hands down! You need a permit to pass the village of Supai and proceed two miles further to the falls. I recommend you add this to your bucket list!

This one is fun. A great afternoon hike, close to the city. Beautiful in the spring. It takes you into the mountains enough you feel some distance from city life. I'd recommend.

Best hike I've done in AZ! I'm an experienced hiker here in Arizona and I wish I had been recommended this trail sooner. Views along the way are great and the springs and water holes are AMAZING. Follow the signs and go to the toilet bowl. That is where the waterfall and swimming pools are. The water temperature was great! Bring lots of drinking water, hiking shoes, and a swimsuit (water shoes and goggles if you can) cause you'll want to swim in this pristine water. We also brought a packed lunch and some cards to spend some time in this haven. It's great that this location is permit only, because we did not have to fight any crowds and we felt like we got to enjoy paradise all on our own! Go down the stream a bit from the toilet bowl to find some beautiful caves. The hike was not hard. We made it down in an hour and 15 and hiked back up in an hour and 45. The hike back is not bad, take your time if you need to! *Note: there are signs at the beginning of the trail that says this trail does not go to "the waterfall". We arent sure what those signs meant because we went to a big waterfall (toilet bowl)! So perhaps there is another waterfall or the signs are incorrect? I think they are incorrect...But never fear, follow the trail and you'll get to the waterfall you see in the pics here.

I recommend this! The pools are more streams, but still a beautiful hike.

I'm going to be honest I was disappointed in this trail. The waterfall wasn't flowing and the pools were ok to look at. The Canyon is nice scenery but we were expecting more. Not much to see for most of the hike. The trail is very flat and hard to follow. Look for the rock piles! We did the whole loop and it was probably about 13.5-14 miles and took us about 7 hours (we stopped and ate lunch).

There is a great 5k loop in this park that I do almost daily. It's not a tough hike, but it is great for running! Lots of hills and the trail is easier on the knees than cement. Takes about an hour to do walking and a half hour or less running.

This hike is not my favorite as far as scenery goes. However it's a great location and great exercise. Very busy!
