Beautiful hike - took the Chuckwagon Trail by mistake and was glad I did as it took you into a more interesting area than did the road. It’s longer but is worth the time and effort. The final quarter mile of the hike presents some challenges but is well worth the effort as you’ll experience amazing panoramas. Did this hike at 6:45 in the am and had no difficulty finding parking.

Did this trail in early December fairly early in the morning going counterclockwise. Started early enough that I only encountered 8 people the first three miles of the loop - the last quarter of the hike was a different...by that time the portion of the hike near Bell Rock was extremely busy. All in all this is an easy hike with some amazing scenery.

One of the easier hikes in the park with some elevation gain and mostly relatively flat terrain. Some interesting washes and some great views looking southwards towards Estrella Mountain.

Good workout with great views of both the eastern and western areas of the park.

Good combination of Skyline Regional Park trails providing a couple of stretches of incline and some stretches of relatively flat areas. I like this hike in the morning and it combines some fine desert scenery with a decent workout. It’s prettiest in the spring when the wild flowers and cactus are in bloom.

Loved this hike! The trail has a steady incline but is paved the entire way. There are benches along the way and lots of beautiful scenery. The day I did this was a cool 45 degrees and it had snowed at upper elevations making the views all the more beautiful. I started the hike at 8 am and encountered quite a few folks with blue tags coming down. One gentleman I spoke with is 83 years young and he’d done the hike 53 times this season! On this day, the temperature in the cave was actually warmer than outside. I loved the cave tour - the ranger did a great job. We only had three folks in our group and were in the caves for an hour and ten minutes and got to learn and see so much. For me the most difficult portion of the hike was going through the cave. I’m 70 years old and 6’2” tall and not that flexible. There are quite a few places where you have to duck down and a few spots where you have to remain low while walking for a fair distance. I had a combo-hydration/day pack that started to scrape along the walls. I ended up taking it off and carrying it. The distance of the cave portion was just under a half mile according to our ranger and encompasses three different caves - all a bit different. Bottom line - the hike up and down are beautiful and great workouts - the cave tour is the cherry on top!

Maybe my favorite in Skyline Regional Park. It takes you to the far western section of the park. You get great 360 degree views from the summit if you choose to go there. Good workout especially if you approach the trail from Chuckwalla as that approach offers much quicker elevation gain. I would suggest doing this trail from both directions. Great scenery either way. Depending on how you approach this trail the distance will be 7 plus miles. Bring enough water and maybe a snack or two.

Nice hike with some great views. This hike is in the eastern portion of Skyline Regional Park which is less trafficked than the western areas. I don’t usually use poles or a hiking stick but I wish I’d had something for the set of switchbacks leading to the summit - gravel and gravel on rock which made for tricky footing when descending. Overall, a good workout on a trail that I’ve done twice and only run into a total of two people (on the last .9 of the trail).
