I agree with the previous reviewer -- although the main trail is pretty well-marked, the side trails are less so. Still, an enjoyable place to wander. Climb to the summit of Holt Hill to see the Solstice Stones, and a nice view of the Boston skyline. Dogs are allowed, so it's a popular place for people and their canine friends -- the day my fiance and I went, I think we were the only ones there without a dog!

Easy walking, would be good for families with kids. Because the area is swampy, it does tend to get very buggy in spring and summer - definitely bring the insect repellent.

One of my all-time favorite places. If you're looking to spot wildlife, definitely check it out -- I've seen deer, owls, snakes, turtles, beavers, herons, hawks, osprey, and a variety of songbirds, just to name a few. (Be sure to bring some seed for the chickadees and nuthatches, they'll eat right out of your hands!) And the place is sprawling enough that, even if it's a busy day, you can still find your own quiet space.

Beautiful walking any time of year. Bring a picnic lunch and fly kites in the open field, or choose a trail through the woods or along the Merrimac River. Keep an eye out for turtles, hawks, and the resident bald eagles along the way. In October, watch for the weekend event "Maudslay is Haunted", when local theater troupe Theater in the Open presents spooky sketches throughout the park with an all-ages cast.

Very easy walking on well-groomed trails. One of the trails leads to the Hamilton House, an historic home with nice scenic views of the Salmon Falls River. A good place to have a wander and bring a picnic lunch.
