If you’re looking for a brutal, lonely hike through the secluded woods with very little views (all of which have power lines in the way) and tons of rocks/roots to maneuver around, this is the hike for you. I’m really confused as to why it’s described as being “heavily trafficked”. I tend to solo hike, and as a young female, I use this app to decide which trails would have more people. In my 12 mile journey, I saw 8 total humans on this trail. It was a Friday morning in the beginning of August. How is that heavily trafficked? So I spent 90% of the hike freaked out in the middle of the woods by myself. Tons of people at the top though, mind you. Parking lot was packed out. You can’t enjoy the view because of all the tourists. Not worth the effort in my opinion. If you do decide to take this trail, make sure to wear hiking boots with good grip that support your ankles and bring bug spray. That’s my two cents!

I started this trail a little too late (5:30 pm) because it was a last-minute decision, so I felt rushed the whole time because I was racing daylight. The view is totally worth the effort in getting there though. Absolutely stunning! I will say that the overlook is pretty terrifying because there are no railings, no signs, and it's just a steep patch of rock that leads to a 400ft drop, so I would recommend keeping your kids/pets very close to you at the top. It's a nice day hike. I was the last one to leave the summit and made it back to the bottom by 8. Make sure to bring the proper shoes and water for the trip - and maybe give yourself at least 3 hours, if not more :)

This is my favorite hike to date. The views are breathtaking for the majority of the trip. I highly recommend going at sunrise! Just make sure to bring bug spray =)
