Absolutley beautiful grounds! A lovely stroll around the Grotto, the stations of the cross, and the upper gardens is serene and perfect for anyone even if you're not religious. Beautiful gregorian chant coming from speakers in the garden sets the scene. I will be back just to sit and listen to nature.

Great trail. Bobbi's review describes it perfectly. Side trails Emery and Wilder are both out and back if you want to add some distance. Emery puts you in a place that looks like the deep forest! A nice pond at the bottom too. Lots of roots that act as stairs throughout. Some mud, but not bad at all. My dog and I loved it. Definately will be back.

360 degree views from the top! Easy home up the hill on a single gravel track. Worth the walk, you could stay up there all day

Half is this trail is wooded, sand or wood chipped and wide. Educational signs identifying the plant life is nice. The other half is a walk through the campground on road. Cut over to the Old South Jetty trail for a better experience.

Cute little trail that takes you out to the jetty next to the Newport bridge. Wooded, then some sand. The actual name is the trail is "Old South Jetty", listed twice in All Trails

Nice views on a short trail with picnic areas available. Beach access down a steep set of stairs. The lighthouse is only open on Wednesdays

Wet, muddy boring trail. 3/4 mike walk up a road ti get to the trailhead. I felt like I was walking through someone's backyard at times.

Great trail with some amazing views at the top of the ridge and again at the lighthouse. Lots of mud on the way up, not passable. Up and down both ways, more on the easy side. Add the Hobbit Trail to the beach to make it top to bottom!

Nice area, but the trail is not marked well if at all. Spent an hour walking around by GPS and got in 4.5 miles. There are no signs at the trailhead, only a map once you get to the old fire tower spot. I would go again now that I have some idea of where I'm going. Horse tracks on the trail but no horses, only a few mountain bikers.

Good Traction needed. Not only on the trail(muddy) but on the road up to the trailhead. 4 wheel drive would help, but I made it up in a minivan. The first 3/4 of a mile is a boring partial gravel path until you get to Drift Creek Wilderness. Then it's a single track decent through beautiful old growth. The creek is very pretty with an area for a fire. The climb back up will get your heartrate up
