I did the east summit trial a few moths ago. I really enjoyed it. The first 1/3 of this trail is a easy path through the woods with a slight grade. I was sorta bummed about cut throughs and the general lack of respect for the actual path but hey, what are you going to do? It's a heavily used trail and most users probably don't know much about the tread light ethic.

The last 2/3rds of the trail is a scramble up some rocks. It's a pretty good work out but the payoff is the view from the top. I spent a while at the top checking out the scenery, watching people come and go. I had to cut my trip a little short because of impending rain but it was cool to see the storm blow in.

I would recommend this trail. Some of the best views in central Arkansas.

This trail starts out right out of a cul-de-sac onto a four wheeler trail. Take a left about 100 feet up the double track to reach the trailhead. The trail begins with a nice flowing downhill section after an initial climb up some solid rock.

There are some nice technical sections as well as some flowing downhill. A few hill climbs but the payoff is well worth it. The scenery is amazing. Huge boulders, pine groves, mountain vistas, and wildlife are abundant along the trail.

The trail winds around the mountainside and then forks at a rock outcrop. Take the left trail for a short loop or take the right trail for a little longer ride.

    Take a lot of water.

This was my first trail in the mountains as I am from Arkansas and we don't have mountains, needless to say it was a bit of a challenge for my "hill legs". I wouldn't say it isn't an overly difficult trail, but I took some breaks for sure.

Pretty good views of the canyon along the way but the highlight was certainly the spring itself. It's tucked back in a shady holler and it was nice to relax in the shade for a few minutes.

There is a good diversity in flora along the trail, most of which was foreign to this hillbilly. The cacti were pretty neat as were the large trees at the spring. They seemed really out of place among the small bushy trees along the trail.

I made a loop with the adjoining Kent Spring and Sylvester Spring trails. Which was about four miles all together.

I have floated from Cyclone to the city of Noel in different sections for over 15 years. I used to enjoy the crowds when I was younger and into the partying that this river is known for but these days I look for quite rivers to float. This is not a child friendly river, nor is it a quite river. The overabundance of outfitters is definitely ruining the river. There are too many people on the river that do not respect the "pack in pack out" philosophy, and the river is being trashed. The upper section of the river is by far less crowded than the lower section.

That being said, the river is nice during the off season. There are great places to fish all along the river and there are several public access points along the river that one can launch and take out on.

The fishing is decent on both ends of the river using a 3" watermelon seed tube jig with a 1/8 ounce jig head. This is all you need to catch fish on this river.

Bentonville city trail for mountain biking, this is right in my backyard so I am a fan. A good place to ride.
