Bekah Sage reviewed Twin Peaks Trail

We did the full trail yesterday. No snow on the trail and the trail is well kept. We were slightly surprised the trail doesn't actually go to the top of a peak instead there's a bench with a view of the peaks. The first bench has a great view of Eklutna lake.

A fairly quick hike with fantastic views. We did it with our 5 year old and dog. The trail is steep and can be very dusty if its been dry or very muddy if its been rainy. There are benches at the top.

Missing one star due to dog poop along the trail and loose dogs that weren't well trained/friendly. As well as trash people have left.

It was a nice a walk. It has a nice view and even not being there long we saw an eagle. I'll definitely go back in the summer or spring to see what other birds are in the area.

Trail is easy and well kept. You can get very close to the waterfall. Down by the waterfall does get a bit crowded its a popular trail. There was a lot of dog poop on the trail.

This trail starts off as easy. After going around some of blueberry loop (I believe that's the name) you veer off and up. This section is harder but it has stairs and provided its not muddy or icy isn't particularly hard just strenuous depending on your fitness level. After going up the well kept part of the trail you hit, what I'm guessing, is why this is rated hard part. Its loose rock, no more stairs, some parts you may be scrambling a bit. My three year old was able to do go 3/4 up it before we stopped him because we weren't comfortable taking him further. Gorgeous views, nice fall hike.

This is an easy family friendly walk or bike. There are beautiful views along the walk and tons of moose (just be aware of the times of the year moose are more aggressive). We didn't do the whole thing only a section and saw 6 moose so its a pretty good bet you'll see something.

We did this hike after having many friends recommend it. We got rained on but were already halfway up the trail so we went on. The trail was built in WWI and has some information at the beginning explaining what it was used for during that period and after.

There are a couple places with in the tunnels where it gets really dark so you definitely want to have a flashlight or some type of light source with you. At the top there was a place where if you time it you can get food. We did not time it right, but they were kind enough to let us dry out by the fire and tie our dog up in shed so we could all be out of the rain. They way back down we opted to go down the road as it was getting dark and we wanted to see both sides.

The views are stunning even with the rain it was 100% worth it.

Absolutely stunning waterfalls, its an easy loop. There are options along the hike that may be considered moderate, at the time we did this hike my son was three and we had our dog with us.
We went first thing in the morning for most of our time there was only a few other people. We spent the whole day exploring all the separate trails.

We went up the back side of the mountain, we had our four year old with us.( Through the red gate) The trail was a bit hard to follow, we ended up just kind of forging our own way. We took a few breaks but I would say going up the back was moderate hike that starts out as more of a walk and depending which trail you follow it may even fall into the easy category.
We went down the front side of the mountain. This way is much steeper and if it had been more muddy it would have been much more difficult. It wasn't hard for us going down it, just watched our step and took our time.
It took us roughly four hours. We saw almost no one going up the back way but coming down the front there was a good amount of people.

    beautiful views

Its a short walk with a great view of Anchorage. Very kid friendly, a good amount of people. A warm up before doing one of the other trails out of the parking lot.
