The trail head is near the Ranger station at Jones Gap State Park. It's a scenic trail that follows the Middle Saluda River. In and out the trail is 10.3 miles but I exited at US 276 for a 5.3 mile hike..It was midweek and was very little traffic that day. The trail is rocky and sandy with designated campsites along the way. There is a river crossing over a bridge as well as a couple of creek crossings. Recommend for an overnighter.

Hiked this trail with a friend during fall peak week here. Beautiful colors all along the trail and great view from the overlook toward the falls which was about a quarter mile away. Trail was almost deserted as we passed only a few more hikers on the way in. This trail is moderate and is kept in it's natural condition which gives you a better presentation than a "maintained" trail. once we left the overlook we hiked back down a dirt and gravel road and did some off the trail hiking down to the falls. It was magnificent. Plan to go back when the leaves are gone for a better long distance view of the falls and Lake Jocassee.

Great trail for most that is rated easy to moderate. Went during the midweek and saw about 10 other hikers. Beautiful weather on the day of my hike with temps in the high 60's and mostly sunny. At the end of the trail is a platform which overlooks the waterfall is about a mile away. Trail is approx 4.5 miles in and out.

Very nice trail with the falls at the end. It's pretty easy with some of the trail being a couple of service roads. it was very hot the day of our hike and was not crowded at all. You must go down a couple of other trails to get to Bridal Veil Falls and those were fairly crowded however. The falls is nothing really special and can hardly be considered a falls as it just flows on top of large smooth rock. Very similar to sliding rock in Pisgah National Forest, NC. There were beautiful fields of wildflowers along the way and great opportunity for pictures. Recommend for family hike. Word of caution. There are snakes abound in this area, including timber rattlers. My wife sat down on a rock with a ledge and was bitten by a copperhead. I flagged down a Park Ranger and he gave us a ride back to the station where they checked her out. Luckily it was a dry bite. Kudos to the Rangers for their professionalism.

This trail is in the DuPont State Forest with parking lot on opposite side of the road from trail. The morning of my hike was cold and snowy. The trail starts out easy, with the first mile or so being dirt and gravel. It then becomes much more difficult because you have to cross Little River, which at the crossing is more like a creek. After the river crossing the trail gets steep in places and very treacherous due to the ice and snow. Overall a very good trail and one an average hiker can do in dry weather.

Great trail to hike if the weather had been better. Yesterday was wet, windy and cold with a high of 34 degrees. It is rated as moderate but is quite a bit difficult in the mud and wet rocks. The waterfalls are quite nice and will do this hike again in the summer.

This is a nice, flat wooded trail that circles around the lake . There are various activities within the park, but I usually camp for a couple of nights and take advantage of the camping, hiking and fishing. The campsites are very nice w/water and electricity for those not wanting to "rough it." I have hiked the trail numerous times and have never found it to be crowded. The park does have some traffic in summer and during deer season.

This was my first hike on this trail and it is already one of my favorites. This is a very well maintained trail and has some of the nicest views in upstate SC. Depending on which trail selection you choose, there is a lake, streams and creeks where you can take a break or picnic.

This is a mile and a half loop that is well maintained. An easy trail for any age and also a good trail for dogs. Went in early spring and there was no one else on trail.
