Barbara Dawn Johnstone reviewed Enchanted Valley Chalet via East Fork Quinault River Trail

Yup, a great trail and the valley is stunning. Did encounter some bears but they were thoroughly bored by humans.
A bear cannister is required for camping in the valley. The bears there don't associate people with available food, which is how we want it to stay!

Barbara Dawn Johnstone reviewed Enchanted Valley with O'Neil Pass Loop and Anderson Glacier Trek

had to give this stars in order to enter a comment. As of yesterday the trail cannot be continued past the junction of trail to Anderson Pass and O'Neil Pass trail - due to an avalanche. I only got as far as White River, which I chose not to cross. A few others did but it was too high for my comfort. Trail up to that point was great. A few downed trees but easy to get over. Enchanted Valley is stunning!

Light rain today but enjoyed this hike nonetheless. Didn't expect views on a cloudy day so wasn't disappointed! Although not much distance, the steep grade makes for good exercise in a setting of lush green forest. Beautiful creek the first half.
Stretched my legs out on Shady Lane trail after (starts across the road), a nice flat counterpoint to this one.

No grand views but beautiful nonetheless. Peaceful. Easy to follow the tracks of previous snowshoes.

Had no issues with the map which I downloaded before heading out. There are also "you are here" maps at trail junctions, very useful.
Lots of trail options. I also took the side trail up to the old lookout on top, nice views of the ocean and can just see the top of the Sisters mountains to the east.
Trail is set in lush green forest and is in good condition. Very enjoyable hike.

Trail in very good condition.Lush forest setting. View from the site of the old Cape Mountain lookout was beautiful. Pacific Ocean to the west and if you look hard you can see the top of the Sisters mountains to the east.

Barbara Dawn Johnstone reviewed Van Trump Park Trail to Comet Falls

Description is confusing, this starts on the Comet Falls Trail, then joins the Van Trump Park Trail for the last portion.
Was a cloudy day so didn't get to see the mountain but the creek and falls were motivational! Snow on the trail past Comet Falls. Late in the season and mid-week so not too many other hikers. Will come back next summer for the flowers and the views!
