Don't expect to see a lot of blazes along the trail; I saw a small handful the entire loop. If you keep an eye out, the trail is clear, even with leaves everywhere. The park's HQ is right at the beginning, so you have access to a bathroom.

Don't expect NP-style busy, but I saw about ten others out hiking on a beautiful Sunday.

Byron Grizzle reviewed Fort Larned Walking Trail

My son and I did this walk in early October 2015. The weather was great. The walking trail was in great shape, and goes around the post's existing buildings. Great view of the fields.

The site and the walk itself are well worth the time invested.

Byron Grizzle reviewed Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site

This is a scenic walk around the NPS' reconstruction of Bent's Old Fort. The site is quite off the beaten path, but,

If you are in the area, I strongly recommend a tour of the fort (and this scenic walk). The park does a great job of explaining the history behind the fort and the connection between the Spanish, native tribes, and American trappers and traders.

Great, easy little walk. The parking lot gets full very early in the morning, so be the early bird, or use the shuttle. All-around great views, and a good way to get acclimated to the altitude. Very little wildlife spotted because of the human density.

I walked the trail in mid-October 2015. It was in great shape, and an easy walk. the views combined with the natural history explanations were great.

The trail is extremely well-marked for an out-and-back: white diamonds predominate, with some white blazes painted. It's well-maintained (there was a park employee driving the bush-hog along the trail). There is broken glass scattered across the trail, so don't wear open-toed shoes. Even with the sun directly above you, there is plenty of shade. If it wasn't so long, there's no reason young kids couldn't hike Bryant Grove. It's fairly flat, very little brush, and no going around obstacles.
