Best hike in Zion aside the ones that require permits and the Narrows. Stunning, all encompassing views of the Canyon and Angels Landing. If you are too afraid of heights for Angels Landing like me, or you just want to avoid the large amount of crowds on a narrow ridge line, do this instead. I haven't done Angels Landing, but I can't imagine that the views are any better than this hike. It's worth it too if you only have 6 hours or so in Zion.

The General Sherman tree itself is amazing. Worth seeing. Low star count because it is a very crowded (no surprise) paved trail which takes away from the sanctity of the tree itself.

The 360° views at the top were spectacular. The trail is crowded though, and you spend a lot of time waiting for people to pass on the narrow sections (it's mostly narrow). On a very busy day, this could be a nuisance. If you aren't doing much in the park though, it's worth it to climb to the top. The steps can be pretty strenuous especially at elevation so take your time and you'll get there!

The vertical gain on these almost feels absent because it is so gradual. For the short amount of hiking, the views and the waterfall are well worth it! Felt like I should have had to hike 10 miles for it. We were here when the park was slow so we hardly saw anyone.

Beautiful views of the windows, and tons of great perspective of the world famous Bryce Canyon hoodoos. The hike features several uphill and downhill sections, but overall isn't tough for a fit individual especially if you're used to high elevation. There are several horse trails that happen on this section, and a fear of horses may become an issue if you have to pass one of these 7 to 8 horse trails being that the trail isn't very wide.

Super short and simple hike with the amazing finishing view of Horseshoe Bend. But, as expected, prepare yourself for LOTS of people even in very early season.

Interestingly enough, the hike itself is the best part. There are several climbs into and out of small canyons, so beware that this hike is equally difficult the way there and back. The view is great, but we came to find the confluence of two brown colored rivers which overall diminished the quality of the view. However, the hike itself shows great diversity of the many aspects of the park including several views of the needles and other very unique rock formations.

The 2000 ft elevation gain is more intimidating than it should be. The hike is seemingly flat most of the time as it follows the river bed once you break off from the Chesler Trail. There is climbing involved in some sections of the trail and a boulder field to the final summit of Druid. But any individual that is moderately fit and fully functioning will make it up no problem with a little perseverance. It was a beautiful hike, and the destination was excellent. It can be tough to navigate, but follow the stacks of rocks set to mark the trail and you'll be fine. Prepare to take a wrong turn or two, just be aware when the stacks disappear. Beware, you're not going to get a solid view if you're not willing to take the final climb.

Excellent trail. The book we followed said that the trail is 10.4 mi round trip with 3048 ft of elevation gain. Steepest climb is right at the beginning of the trailhead. Nice lookout spot with a bench 2.4 mi up, easy to hike to. After that, the remaining elevation gain is gradual and steady until you summit. Warning: two false summits! The top is worth it to see the other side. However, the winds were pretty heavy above tree line.

Beautiful hike. Can be tough and very windy.

***One thing to note: the vertical rise and mileage on this page is wrong. The hike from this upper trailhead which requires 4WD to get to saves you some vertical rise but according to the maps at this upper trailhead, the total mileage out and back is 7.6. And the vertical rise is not a mere 1000 ft but 3970 ft.***
