This was a beautiful, easy jaunt through the desert with lots of great views and very mild elevation gain. There's plenty of parking and the trail is well-marked the whole way. The petroglyphs at the end were really cool to see, as well!

This was a perfect trail if you're looking for a moderate jaunt up the butte to see an incredible view of town and meander in and out of the rock formations. It took us about an hour and a half to complete the whole loop. We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't super busy since there are plenty of trails to choose from within Lost Dutchman. No wildflowers yet, but the cacti were fun to see. The trail is well maintained, but it is steep at first, so bring water and be prepared to take a few breaks if you're not an experienced hiker. Entry into the park is $7, which includes lots of bathrooms, water fountains, paved parking, maps, and well marked trails.

The trail starts out as Peralta Trail then breaks off about a mile in. Instead of following signs to the right or left for Peralta, continue straight through the gap in the fence. It’s difficult to see, but if you’re not going straight towards the butte, you’re going the wrong way. Please don’t underestimate the difficulty of the last .75 miles of this hike. It’s straight up (like camelback) with no shade. Bring plenty of water and take breaks as needed. The view at the top is beautiful, but it’s definitely not a beginners hike.

This is less of a trail and more of a trudge your way up the river until you reach the falls scenario. There is little shade along the way, so beware in the warmer months. Please buy a permit and respect the land. A group that was already at the falls by the time we arrived were drinking and smoking, littering all over the trail. The waterfall is beautiful, but please respect it. The road to the trail is rough, so don't risk driving it in a low clearance car.

A lot steeper than I thought it would be, but the views at the top made it worth it!
