great little hike. the snow was so packed it was pretty treacherous! I slid down the ice more than a few times. still completely worth it! too bad there's no fishing in the lake :P. the trail was pretty packed with other hikers but that made it easier to take our time.

Went oct 19. we didn't expect the snow and hard packed ice so that slowed us down like crazy. but the few miles we did get to we're outstanding! so many great views and lookout spots! highly highly recommend!

we definitely got lost through here. and I mean LOST! make sure you follow the cairns and stick to the right. we ended up following a seemingly obvious path only to find ourselves climbing over boulders on the edge of a cliff... pretty wicked views though! if we wouldn't have taken that detour, it would have been a super easy and neat walk. highly recommend!

wow! just stunning! this trail itself doesn't run through the amphitheatre but if you veer off this trail, the amphitheatre is a short walk away. I am sort of a geological nerd so these rock formations had my jaw on the floor. such a wild and beautiful place! even in October, make sure you have plenty of water.

we went here oct 21. the hanging lake itself is absolutely gorgeous! unfortunately you have to climb for over a mile almost the entire way. it definitely took the wind out of us being from GA and all :P I was a little disappointed because the waterfall was pretty dried up at this time of the season. it would have been nicer in the spring or summer when the waterfall is a constant companion. all in all quiet nice. definitely take your time as some of the rocks are extremely slippy! I lost count of how many people I saw slip on the rocks both on the way up and down.

easy trail but be careful in the summer. took my dog there. the rocks on the rock mile trail were so hot we ran from grass pile to grass pile. she loved the lake at the end tho!!
