Pretty day, nice trail. Really pleasant. Perfect for kids. There is a big teepee at the top made of sticks and a lovely creek to splash in.

Easy trail with little to offer until the lake. Just a gentle climb through the forest. Bottleneck Lake is another pretty alpine lake with a huge rock wall behind. We did not go to Snow Lake.

This is a short moderate trail with so much to offer. It seems much longer than it's short distance because it has such variety. First of July there is usually snow on the trail between Pyramid and Ball Lakes along a steep area. When you get to Lower Ball Lake go past the lake and over the outlet, follow the faint trail up the hill to top the ridge where there is a beautiful lookout down the Selkirk's. This is a busy trail and shares a trailhead with other trails. The parking is restricted so go early on weekends. We hike a lot and this is one of our favorite short trails.

This trail starts out up and stays that way for a couple miles through forest then levels out some with nice views of the Selkirks. A little over 3 miles, it drops down steeply into Trout Lake. This beautiful alpine lake has a number of campsites. Continuing on going up and up and . . . well up some more you have beautiful views down Long Canyon on one side and toward the Purcell's and Cabinets on the other. At about 2.2 miles, you look straight down to Big Fisher Lake. The trail is a long half mile down and even longer up. The lake itself is another beautiful alpine lake with a huge granite wall on one side. Last water is at Trout Lake, so fill up as you cross the bridge. In early July there was just a little snow, many campsites were soggy. We backpacked this and would consider it difficult. Allow 4.5 hrs. in with breaks and 3 hrs. out.

We didn't go all the way to the beach but turned back when we got to the lookout after the golf course where you could see the beach and surrounding buildings. The first part of this is really amazing with some interesting formations. When you have to walk on the edge of the golf course, not so much. The erosion has eaten the cliffs away so people have to walk on the golf course to continue on. The beaches can be driven to so I would op to go as far as the golf course and then drive to the beaches if you want to go there. If you drive to them you will go by a rodeo place. We just happened to go by when there was one in progress. Check the guidebooks for the times when they have them. It was a fun little stop.

This is a hike to a nice viewpoint of the Napali Coast. Pretty steep with nothing particularly interesting in between. But any hike is Hawaii is good and the views are great!
