Arthur Riddle reviewed Etiwanda Falls Trail

The entire trail is pretty unappealing at this time of year, but it is definitely worth the hike.

The entire first part of the hike is rocky and there is absolutely no shade, but when you are at the end of it, you are greeted with a gorgeous, shaded, lush, area where water runs through. It's not a long hike, but during the heat of the day, it can be tough, so bring enough water.

Another note: when I had gotten out of my car, one other hiker warned me about someone breaking into their car. I looked around and saw theirs and one other car that was broken into. Don't leave any valuables in your car if you plan on hiking this.

So let me start off by saying I started this hike a few times to never finish it because of inconveniences.

This time I finally was able to finish this hike. The day I went, there were what seemed like hundreds of cars, and many people; I have never seen this many people at this particular trail.

The first half of trail is very nice; a lot of the main trail is right next to the stream that goes along the entire canyon. The greenery is pretty much only by the stream, so if that's all you want to see, then follow the stream the entire way. The last half of the trail is nothing short of grueling and boring. The stream is still there, so you are still able to follow it; but the fastest way is on the main trail which overlooks the canyon. Pretty much all to see during the last half is just rocks and a distant green strip where the stream follows.

Coming up to the bridge - I have to say - I was extremely disappointed. It was probably my fault for imagining something more grand. Don't get me wrong, it was a very nice piece of architecture, but after a somewhat long hike I was expecting a bit more.

Don't let this review discourage anyone else from going, it is definitely worth the trip out to say you've done it. The first half is incredibly gorgeous, but the second half is just lackluster to say the least. I'm glad I hiked this trail, but safe to say, I won't be coming back again.

Not that good of a hike. Extremely easy, but nothing to see until you get to the "fall". A lot of littering though. Definitely won't be going back.

It's not really that much of a trail, it has a good view of Norco though. Just a fun place to go if you're looking for a really short but rewarding hike.

I have probably hiked this trail over 12-15 times! I have went up the side of the mountain and through the valley. There is also a place to do rope climbing which is a very fun activity! I would have to say going through the "valley" is the best (other than the rope climbing), because of how shady, cool, and lush it is compared to other areas. I haven't ever completely gone through the entire trail, but it does get a lot more beautiful the more you hike through!

I have only hiked this trail once during the nighttime, because of the "ghost" stories about it. It was a very nice hike, most of it is surrounded by trees and shrubs which is also very cool. I would have to hike it during the daytime to have a full on review, but it was a nice night hike, surprisingly a lot of people hike around 10 at night!
