The Turtle Mound Trail is an easy hike up and around a midden. It is all boardwalk and modestly high and short. The two observation decks overlooks on the ocean the East side and the West overlooks the mosquito lagoon. Bring sun screen only about half has canopy.

The track shown in the present Track is not Fairchild Oak Trail it is the Bulow Trail. The Fairchild Oak Trail isn a loop that has has a red blaze. It is a loop of about one mile with two trailheads at the 90 degree turn in the Bulow Trail one headed East and the other South. It is an easy trail well kept up and can be reached from Bulow Trail at Board-man Ln. or at Fairchild Oak Park.

The boardwalk is usable by wheel chairs, carriages and bikes.
The beaches have little shelter from the sun. Carry sun screen!
It should be easy for beginners and children with adults.

The Ormond Loop is mostly a scenic drive often used by bikers both, pedal and motor. This is not my usual venue but this is really not a hiking trail and I am familiar with it and is worth a visit.
We’ll start at “Fortanato Park” at the corner of Granada and John Andrews Drive in Orlando Beach. A great place to stroll or have a picnic lunch and fish or watch the boats on the Halifax River. The drive starts with a left turn on John Andrews Dr. This is the “high rent district” great to visit around Christmas. On the left side (west) of the street is the Halifax River which will be with us until we get to High Bridge Road. As we drive north the real estate becomes more conventional until reach the work on the North Peninsula State Park which is being returned to its natural condition. At a “T” intersection we turn left on High Bridge Road.
This will take us to High Bridge, which is really not very high but is a draw bridge. On the left is High Bridge Park which has a boat launching ramp, fishing pier running under the bridge and some picnic tables. On the right side is part of North Peninsula Park with Costal Strand Trail. A great spot in the spring and fall to watch the boats following the seasons. Somewhere along the road the name changes to Boardman Road. It is used to launch small boats, for fishing, crabbing or netting for bait. Further west you cross Bulow Woods Trail. To the right or north the trail is to Bulow Park and to the south it leads to Fairchild Oak. A hiker could hike in either direction and be picked up by the driver. I would guess that it would be three or four miles to either. Going north about .5 miles will take you to Boardman Observation Platform on a pond often with many birds.
At the “T” intersection with North Beach Street turn right to pick up a hiker from Bulow Woods or left for the hiker from Fairchild Oak and to continue on the loop. Either Park is a great place to visit.
Straight ahead we pass through very pretty neighborhood. Turn left at the bridge and complete the loop.

This is an easy hike mostly along the Halifax River some light canopy covers the beginning and end (return hike) but the remainder has full exposure to the sun. Bring along sun and insect protection. The only wild life was a large gator in the river. There were a few flowers but this may be too early in the season. OK for families or a short walk.

An easy trail with a light canopy and not much change in elevation, several small brooks crossed with well placed planks and one larger creek with a substantial bridge. Well maintained by locals. Several old stone walls. Pleasant picnic area at the trail head. There are three other trails in this park (Fenton Ruby Park).

Arthur Lirot reviewed Kolokee Trail In Little Big Econ State Forest

I hiked this trail on a fine February day and found it well maintained, marked and used. It was a weekend and had quite a number of hikers. I was with a group from "Go Outside and Play" so we were probably a bit slower than a smaller group. The trail follows the Econlockhatchee River but deviates to short cut at some horseshoe sections. There were no facilities, bring what ever you might need. I plan to hike it again either solo or with fewer companions

There is little of interest almost like a walk across an overgrown field to the Hobe Sound Tower, which can be reached by a dirt road.. I hiked it on a weekend and it was very busy. The walk was easy and pleasant if you had interesting companions, easy to follow and mostly flat and dry. There is little canopy so carry sun screen and wear a hat and carry water.
The Tower is well worth the visit. Great views inland and water, ICW, beach and the Atlantic Ocean.

Easy loop trail light canopy provides limited shade but open sections are exposed. Take sun screen. Well marked and an easy trail to follow. A small section with some exposed tree roots which should be traversed with caution. A break from the beach if you are looking for one.
